I have no trust the devs will release the game or honour any promises of content, they have consistently used shady FOMO marketing tactics and clearly promised a release date they could never meet.
Although I enjoyed the game in early early access, the developers have lied about the use of AI. In a direct quote from CEO Thomas Mahler, the studio is "using AI to help eith tooling, bugfixes, and so on, like everyone else is. We'd be stupid not to. It's a genuinely useful tool." Generative AI is not simply the creation of assets, and not labeling the game as using it in the process is lying to their players. If I had known the game used AI i would never have played it in the first place. I am incredibly disappointed and will not longer be supporting the game and its development.
Mahler is a clown, enjoy the delay dents
The game runs terribly. Waited too long after I purchased it and now I can't return it for a refund, which is a bummer. Can't even play it, because the gameplay relies on timing for combat and the input lag is like a second and a half.
With the announcement on social media from CEO Thomas Mahler that No Rest for the Wicked, and this is a direct quote, is "using AI to help with tooling, bugfixes and so on, like everyone else is. We'd be stupid not to. It's a genuinely useful tool." I'm going to be giving this game a "Do Not Recommend." The use of generative ai in any part of production is wholesale just cutting out work from real humans. The fact of saying "we aren't using it for art assets" does not mean you aren't using it in your pipeline. You've used it in your pipeline and thus should have had to disclose this on your Steam page.
Я купил эту игру 2 года назад так и не поиграв, а теперь еще перенос на пол года шакалы дырявые.
i want my money back! i only played for a little before they announced 1.0 would drop in october, so i held off playing because i dont wanna spoil the full release with early access when its this close.. ive been patiently waiting, and for an audhd person, that is practically impossible! i am utterly disappointed and at this point i dont even want the game. ♥♥♥♥ this behaviour with FOMO as many others have pointed out. predatory gamedevelopment... STOP ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ TAKING MONEY FOR SOMETHING YOU HAVENT DELIVERED! STOP LURING PEOPLE INTO GIVING YOU MONEY FOR SOMETHING YOU CANT COMPLETE IN TIME!! STOP THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ FOMO!! devs/publishers like this is what has destroyed my joy for games, game design and game development. its just a load of "BUY NOW (..so our stockholders can buy an extra car and a villa on a mountain!) ... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pisstake!
Can we stop with the delay attacks that have massive windup time and suddenly a hundred swings that one shot instantly? These haha gotcha moves are cancerous, and this game is riddled of these
They started banning people for calling them for their delay because of other games. Banning rightful people just because they use angry tone without insulting deserves negative review. I did not do it until now. Now after this CENSORSHIP attempt to people like me it totally deserves negative. I got banned from No Rest for the Wicked Community forums because of this message : "COWARDS delayed the game because of other games with fake apology video. GAME IS NOT THERE YET ..... LIEEEEEES. Full of lies. Wish we had the same power as customer to say "SORRY OUR MONEY IS NOT THERE YET, IT WILL ONLY REACH IN MARCH 2027. " Ban Reason : Vitriol They also deleted all the messages i sent. In one of the messages i was talking about i bet they delayed to All the way back to March because they could not find a streamer who has open time frame even in October. They deleted and censored all the things we mentioned because it seems we were right about it. See the statement they did today, after all totally deserved negative reviews they come out and admit what we have been saying since announcement : https://steamcommunity.com/app/1371980/discussions/0/570422934214101478/ Check the messages of Thomas Mahler, lead developer. He basically confirms about everything. This statement also made the parts in my message they ban me "LIARs And Fake Apology" part %100 correct. As you can see in these statements they were expecting to delay but expecting people to ACCEPT their delay happily. Thats why it makes their apology totally fake in their delay announcement video. After their totally deserved negative reviews from people who did not believe their delay was honest and it was because of GTA6 and other games, just like us lead developer Thomas Mahler got mad and deleted peoples messages and ban them in the steam forums. Be warned. In the future you can be randomly banned too.
Request to the devs: - Make town upgrades cheaper. I don't mind gathering resources as I explore, and I don't mind the upgrade system as a whole, but the upgrades require too many resources. I found myself dedicating time to "resource runs", and that part of the gameplay felt hollow. I would much prefer to get all or most of the resources I need for the town upgrades from fully exploring a zone, and revisiting zones for more meaningful content. - Make it easier to refund attribute points. This game offers so many playstyles, and locking attribute refunds behind the roguelike content making the player spend a valuable resource feels very bad. I would rather the player be encouraged to experiment. There is so much that I love about this game. The visuals, sound design, voice acting, and attention to detail in the world. The way each zone evolves with the events of the story. The satisfying combat and character building systems. The high quality cinematics. I'm writing this review in hopes of my feedback being seen. Keep doing this incredible work!
