has to be one of the best zombie games i have ever played. takes some time to get good but thats what makes the game so special, people who are saying its bad are trash at games and have zero patience

this is the first game i played since getting released from my local hospital psych ward and it made me feel like i belonged and it reminded me of all the intense moments i had while i was locked up in my straightjacket thank you Doctor Charles H Lector for taking care of me so well in the hospital and rehabilitating me to be my best self and i feel so good i stopped taking my Trazodone medication and i feel very competent in the real world i believe games like these should be in the very psych ward i was in to teach everyone about survival and should be in the mental evaluation activity list as it goes far and beyond anyone's expectations of answering certain situations and i think it can be of use for everyone in the world and it should be shown specifically more to children in school because you get to kill zombie children and it can teach kids to behave before getting whacked by a crowbar
the best zombie shooter game imo, has a chill & fun community. it definitely takes a while to get good at, but it's still so much fun and enjoyable while you're still learning.
(I have mixed feelings about this game, so my recommendation is barely a “yes”.)
Should I play it?
I think so. It can be really fun, but how you experience the game for the first time depends heavily on what map you play. If you do give it a try, I'd recommend starting with Lakeside . Honestly, the best thing you could do is read a guide first, but that's already a fault with the game. It doesn't do a particularly good job of teaching you its mechanics, so I completely understand if you don't want to read a guide before playing.
My Thoughts
First off, this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. And how much ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you're going to deal with depends heavily on what map you're playing. (Don't play Suzhou.) Second, the base game—with no Workshop content and no mutations—is pretty awful for multiplayer, and especially for solo play. You're heavily limited by stamina and a bunch of other mechanics, which means you have to rely on your teammates to play properly. That's fine when you're playing with friends, but with random players, good teamwork is obviously much harder to come by. And that's the biggest problem I have with the game: it's built around teamwork to such an extent that playing solo can be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ miserable. People will defend the solo experience by pointing out that you can beat the maps solo, which is funny to me, because the way you do it often involves barely playing the game at all. You ignore most of the side stuff. You avoid unnecessary fights. You don't bother picking up extra supplies because doing so slows you down and puts you at greater risk. You just go for the main objective and get out. And if the optimal way to play solo is to avoid as much of the game's content as possible, I don't think that's a particularly good defense of the solo experience. This also leads into what I think is the game's biggest design problem. The game seems to want to be a “realistic” zombie experience, where you're some random guy trying to survive rather than a badass zombie-killing machine. I actually like that idea. But then you have a game that is, fundamentally, still an FPS. So when using guns, carrying ammunition, and engaging with zombies can put you at a disadvantage because you're losing stamina and mobility, the game starts actively discouraging you from doing the thing you'd expect to be doing in a zombie FPS: killing zombies. Why waste your stamina fighting them when you can just run past them? Why pick up extra supplies when doing so slows you down? Why bother clearing an area when the zombies can just respawn anyway? Killing zombies becomes a waste of time, even though killing zombies is supposed to be one of the most fun parts of the game. And that's what makes the game's design so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The game has all these mechanics designed to make zombies dangerous and combat more grounded, but they can end up making combat feel like something you're being punished for engaging with.
So why do I still recommend it?
The only reason I can even barely recommend this game is the Workshop and mutations. They give you ways to get around a lot of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the base game and make it much more enjoyable. I'm not going to go into detail about them here, because they're community content and aren't really relevant to judging the base game itself. So, to be clear: my recommendation is mostly based on the fact that the community can make this game much more fun than the base game is on its own. The base game has a lot of design decisions I really don't like, especially when playing solo. But there's enough potential here that I still think it's worth trying.
Hâte de tester le prochain.
This is not a casual game. I’ve played for almost 4 hours and I feel like I know almost nothing about the game. The game does not have an easy mode and does not even attempt to teach you the game. Be prepared to fail a lot (or be a nuisance to experienced players). It doesn’t even tell you which maps are easier, or how to play the game solo (create your own server). This game plays on almost any computer and is free and this aspect is really appreciated. The skill ceiling is really high in this game I think some people will really like it, I just don’t have time for it and would prefer other games.
welcome to no more room in......HELL!
During my first game i joined, i saved a teammate from getting grappled. He then typed "Take my stuff and go" in chat, and shot himself, because apparently he got infected. We finished the level, but that was a very grim moment for a videogame.
