Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.29/day in the week to Aug 31 → 0.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

no fox season is a psychological thriller visual novel that uses an intentionally charming premise to disguise something considerably more disturbing. Developed by mxrningstarr and published by Nova B12, it follows a young woman who encounters an injured fox while heading home from the store during a rainy day. Rather than leaving the animal behind, she secretly brings it home despite her parents having forbidden her from keeping pets. What begins as an act of kindness gradually becomes a strange and increasingly uncomfortable situation involving a mysterious fox-girl and questions about exactly what the protagonist has invited into her home. The strongest aspect of the premise is the contrast between cuteness and psychological unease. Feeding and caring for the fox initially seem like harmless activities, but the game's thriller elements make even ordinary interactions feel suspicious. The player is encouraged to become attached to the mysterious visitor while simultaneously questioning her identity, intentions, and nature. This uncertainty gives the story much of its tension. Instead of depending primarily on sudden scares or action sequences, the game builds discomfort through anticipation and the feeling that an innocent situation could go wrong at any moment. Gameplay is primarily structured around visual-novel storytelling and player decisions. Reading dialogue, observing scenes, interacting with the situation, and choosing how to respond form the core experience. This makes no fox season much better suited to players interested in narrative-driven games than those looking for extensive combat, exploration, survival systems, or complicated puzzles. Its mechanical simplicity allows the story and atmosphere to remain the focus, although players who prefer highly interactive gameplay may find the experience somewhat limited. Choices are especially significant because the game contains multiple endings, including outcomes that may not develop in the way players initially expect. Knowing that decisions can influence the conclusion gives seemingly minor choices additional importance and encourages experimentation. Replaying the story with different decisions is therefore part of the appeal. Rather than treating the first ending as the definitive conclusion, players can return to earlier situations, behave differently, and discover alternative consequences. Achievement hunters also have an additional reason to investigate the various possibilities. The visual presentation reinforces the game's deliberately contradictory personality. Its 2D anime-inspired characters can look cute and inviting, while the psychological context continually suggests that appearances should not be trusted. This contrast works particularly well for horror because disturbing moments become more effective when they interrupt something that initially appears safe. Players should be aware, however, that the game discloses the presence of AI-generated material in some images. AI assistance was also used for translations into several languages. Those disclosures may be an important consideration for players who prefer games created without generative AI involvement. The narrative is also intentionally more mature than the adorable fox imagery might suggest. Disturbing themes and psychological horror are central to the experience, so it should not be mistaken for a purely wholesome animal-care or cute anime game. The apparent innocence of rescuing an injured fox is essentially the doorway into the darker material. That tonal shift is one of the game's defining characteristics and will probably work best for players who enjoy stories that gradually undermine their initial expectations. Another advantage is the availability of numerous language options, making the story accessible to a wider international audience. The experience does not depend on elaborate full voice acting, placing greater responsibility on the writing, illustrations, music, and atmosphere. For a visual novel, this can actually complement the suspense because players determine their own reading pace. Taking time between lines or choices can make uncertain situations more uncomfortable, especially when the game deliberately withholds information about what is really happening. Steam Deck compatibility is a notable advantage. The game is officially Steam Deck Verified, with its core functionality working through the handheld's controls and its interface remaining usable on the smaller display. Controller prompts and general navigation are appropriately supported, while the game can run using settings suitable for the device. Its viewpoint and methodical pacing also translate naturally to portable play, although demanding visual settings can still make sensible performance adjustments worthwhile for players prioritizing battery life or consistent performance. The overall scope is intentionally modest, and that becomes both an advantage and a limitation. It avoids burdening its unusual premise with unnecessary systems, keeping attention on the relationship between the protagonist and the mysterious fox-girl. At the same time, anyone expecting a mechanically deep horror adventure could find the amount of conventional gameplay insufficient. Its real value comes from curiosity: discovering what the fox actually represents, seeing how choices alter events, and uncovering the different endings. no fox season ultimately works best for players who enjoy short, unconventional psychological visual novels where cute aesthetics conceal darker intentions. Its mysterious fox-girl, branching outcomes, unsettling themes, and contrast between warmth and danger provide the experience with a distinctive identity. The limited mechanical complexity and disclosed AI-generated elements will make it less appealing to certain audiences, but its strange premise and multiple endings give curious visual-novel fans a reason to explore beyond a single playthrough. It is a small-scale game that understands the effectiveness of turning something adorable into a source of uncertainty. Rating: 7/10
yeah
