Reviews
A very very cautious "recommended". I haven't put a ton of hours into Nitro Gen Omega, Don't get me wrong, the game has a lot of great qualities. The combat system is quite novel and fun to wrap your head around. Its presentation too is overall pretty amazing. The artstyle is vibrant and the animations with all custom characters lare so full of personality. It's clear a lot of love went into this. However: There are a lot of weird little issues and bugs one will constantly run into. A lot of the UIs, while looking stylish, do feel awkward and intuitive to use. Some core functionalities like deleting a save are just gone, and I can't tell if it's a deliberate aspect of the mechanics or an oversight. Also I have run into quite a few bugs, the most consistent of them being stuck at redline, flying in circles around the hub while my crew won't stop asking me for their payday with overlapping text boxes, rendering me unable to enter any other input. I don't like putting a game like this down, It's really neat and scratches a particular mech shaped itch for me. There are absolutely the bones of a fun videogame here, but in its current state I can't really recommend it unless you have a particularly high tolerance for jank.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This review is positive. I love mechs, I love gurren lagann, i am the ideal audience. And this scratches the itch. That being said this game makes me so mad. I just got done spending hours on one enemy to unlock the ocelot. And immediately uninstalled. I have played the game for 25 ish hours total and spent three - five of those hours grinding against 200 marble contracts because my monki mech is too week for 4-5 skull contracts. The game stopped offering me 3 skull contracts when i bought one legendary part and 2 skull contracts pay a fraction of what I need. I bought a legendary part I thought would get me over the hump to unlock the ocelot mech. (Keep in mind the variety for how mech parts effect your playstyle is very limited on the monki so i've been fighting enemies for 10+hours using missile, double shot, and deploying smoke or proximity mine where able. Very repetitive). The legendary part (ability reposte) does not work against the boss for the ocelot despite how it reads. I felt done with grinding and said either I beat this boss or I quit. I abandoned my ironman ruleset and redid the fight over and over and when I finally beat this fight it wasn't due to any strategy, but pure luck. I decided currently the game is not for me and I would love to reap the rewards of what I worked towards with the ocelot, I am now bored. The idea of grinding a base level ocelot up to max against the same cheap contracts ive been doing for hours is enough. I just don't care. Essentially, I love this game. I love mechs, I love developing and kitting the mech, I love building the lore and relationships with my characters. But this game is incredibly abusive in making you want to like it. You will see the same cut scene a million times and it runs at 3 frames per second. Its a sandbox mecha but the map is so small and if you're stuck on the monki like me there is only three towns worth visiting until your mech is all legendary parts. The hardest part is the only time you might feel like you're doing something different or might have a different playstyle is if you unlock a different mech. I'm not even sure on that since I uninstalled. the game just gets very redundant because it requires you to max the mech with generic parts before you can unlock other mechs and by that point i just feel done. Its fine to love this game because no one else does the same thing, but it hurts because you will throw a lot of hours away for nothing and by the time you get to unlock variety, you will be tired of playing and this comes from a Kenshi / Rimworld / grind enjoyer. I look forward to what the devs bring and wish all the best for this game but I think I will throw in the towel. I complain because I care. If anyone makes it past the 20-30 hour grind to unlock another mech and it feels good let me know. Would love to find the inspiration to keep going.
TLDR - for 20 bucks I'd give a thumbs up and handwave the rest. For 30 they need to drop a meaty free update. The combat is fun, but after about 15-20 fights, you've seen everything. And it's just a matter of enemies having more HP the further you get. The game is overpriced for what's available to do. The "main story" also just ends after you finish the last boss, no fanfare or any of the previous quest givers thanking you or rewarding you for a job well done. No upgrade parts for your mech after beating the boss. Yeah you can roam around the rest of the map, but there's nothing new left to do. I had the game beat at around 23 hours, and spent about 2 more hours wrapping up the rest of the achievements that aren't currently bugged (2) and a few I don't care to ever do. All of the activities on the ship are the exact same scenes. Character relationships don't really matter at all though, and the time would of been better spent fleshing out the combat and working on more animated scenes for the quests. The buffs from cooking/smoothies seem pretty lackluster, and a grind to try and find everything you can make, for no real reason. Beating the final boss is just a matter of hoping you get the right RNG parts when the stores refresh. For example I was waiting around forever to find a better "Heart" so I had enough power to actually equip all the other better parts. There's only two stores out of all the towns that seem to carry those parts. Probably could of beaten the game 3-5 hours earlier if you weren't just waiting on RNG. The thing that sucks about this, is from looking at the tin and before you start playing it. It's like, damn this kinda looks like it's going to be Fooly Cooly (it's about the same length :) ) or Gurren Lagann. And then there's just nothing, barely a story, no encyclopedia to look up enemy types, shop characters copy and pasted in every city. If they handled the rest of the game like they handled the cutscene that happens before the final battle takes place, it would be a far better game. It's just kinda crazy there's only one real cutscene in the game. Edit - I know it sounds harsh, but the art style and mechs all look fine. They just need to add more scenes and interactions. And put about 33% more work into every aspect of the game. Or drop the price to 20. Oh also customizing your own characters, a lot of the clothes and accessories clip through each other. Edit 2 - devs released an update that fixed some of the above issues, if I circle back around to it - I'll see about updating and changing the review.
A game with incredible potential that does not live up to it AT ALL. Nitro Gen Omega ends up being a title that leans heavily on its admittedly extremely innovative and flashy combat, but almost every other aspect of the game feels shoddily done and underbaked to the extreme. The core gameplay loop gets extremely repetitive and didn't grip me at all, the story adds nothing to proceedings, and the relationship mechanics are shallow as can be. This genuinely feels like a game at the START of early access, not the end. As for the combat, it's a brilliant idea that falls short only because of the lack of options you have, and honestly annoys me more for how much wasted potential is in its back and forth of placing actions on a timeline. I think the asking price is genuinely UNHINGED for what's on offer. If this was a 10 dollar game I'd be willing to overlook some of its flaws but as is, it feels like a borderline greedy asking price for what is effectively the overall quality of an alpha tech demo. If you can get it for 70% off, Maybe.
I enjoyed the game's Combat a lot, it's honestly gorgeous and would had been even better with more polishing, but the Story feels super rush and at the last campaing mission it felt like it was scrapped without a propper cutscene (Hence my statement that it felt rush, beside being super short), spent most of my time upgrading my robot, nevertheless, i would only recommend this game for its combat and it still feels like a early access game that needed more depth.
I tried my best but the game don't run correctly. When there is an animation (like the cinematic when you enter a mecha for exemple before every battle) the FPS goes crazy. Like, it's not that it was the core of the game to feel in a anime... P.S : To anwser the dev, I know how to recognize a difference between a cinematic that mimic the effect of an anime with few frames and a cinematic that doesn't run smoothly. Like, mine is going slow and fast with unegual fps ; or maybe it is an effect that I don't know...
WHYYYY THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CAN I NOT CHANGE THE ACTION IN COMBAT BEFORE CONFIRMING????????? The number of fights i've ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up because I hit 'A' one too many times and either skipped a turn or shot with no ammo is too damn high. There's no reason for this. Seriously. Just put a confirmation prompt or something. Otherwise its not a bad game. Feels like it'll take forever to get money though. Not sure the grind will be worth it.
im afraid this game is mid. it feels like there missing content and it can get frustrating at times. although im giving this a negative review I did enjoy what was there hopefully the developers will release more content in the future like the promised pvp mode
A really fun mecha game that has plenty of customization and very sandboxy. So here is a bit of a rundown of the game after playing it a good bit. Story (-) It has a basic apocalypse storyline and nothing to call home about, it is there but isn't what really sells the game. Gameplay(++) This is what really shines, the combat and animation is fantastic though some frames there seems to be a stutter to it and not sure if it is my pc or the game itself but otherwise it is freaking fantastic. Mechanics(+-) There is a lot of depth to the different abilities of both the mechs and enemies but the tutorial does not tell you about most of them nor is there really a codex for keeping track of things. I hope they improve on that later on, a huge tip is using the inspect command to see priority. THIS will save you sooo much headache as some abilities have higher priority over others and it is scaled 1-4 with 4 being higher and 1 being lower. Using a priority 3 movement will make a priority 4 melee attack hit you if in the same segment but a a priority 3 emergency truster to dodge a priority 2 range attack can save you from taking damage. Customization(++-) Lots of things to customize but there could be way more different clothing and hair, wish there was more sliders for the clothes as some clothes are locked to certain body sizes. Also wish you could alter your character after the game starts but you cannot, and there needs to be a function to save some of the random characters you can get. Cause can be some pretty peak designs. Another few tips is trying to do most of the quests before moving on and using the activities after each battle as it is more than doable to keep everyone enthusiastic on morale and low fatigue very easily if you do well in fights and try not to take to much damage. USE your block skill! It can save your life and reduce chance of wounds. And the later mechs you can get are best saved for a new game instead of using them half way through your playthrough. There was a lot of complaints about the other two mechs and i can safely say that most of those issues are not as much a problem now compared to the start of the game. I hope this review was helpful and hope to see this game really succeed and bring in more content!
WOW this game is incredible its so beautiful and the game concept is unique and interesting The best way i can describe this game is its a love letter and child of super robot wars mixed with battle tech mixed with persona with a cloudpunk type story telling and exploration BRAVO
