Nine Sols is a lore rich, hand-drawn 2D action-platformer featuring Sekiro-inspired deflection focused combat. Embark on a journey of eastern fantasy, explore the land once home to an ancient alien race, and follow a vengeful hero’s quest to slay the 9 Sols, formidable rulers of this forsaken realm.

I like this game. The atmosphere and lore and story is very good. They put some love in to this game and it shows. I just wanted more platforming like hollow knight or prince of Persia. This game is more about combat. Parrying. You have to parry on the right moments. like Sekiro. If you like combat were you have to parry, you gonna like this game. for sure. The combat is very responsive and good when you get a hang on it.
This game is great. Before playing i had very high standards due to playing and achieving 100% in hollow knight and it's sequel, and I was subsequently blown away by this game's combat and artstyle. The combat is amazing, with it's parry system taking a while to master and once you do, you feel great. As of right now, I have only 2 achievements left and have completed the game's true ending. I am now in full confidence that this game surpasses Hollow Knight and possibly Silksong for me. Would heavily recommend for those who ok enjoyed Hollow Knight and other Metroidvanias!
This is truly an amazing game. In terms of difficulty, I’d say it’s easier than Hollow Knight—except for the final boss - IT WILL KICK YOUR ASS A FEW TIMES AT LEAST. The final boss is a massive skill check that only lets you finish the game once you’ve truly mastered its mechanics. Chef's kiss tho Story-wise, I would personally place it above even Hollow Knight. It’s genuinely one of the most inspiring and heartbreaking stories I’ve ever had the chance to experience. It’s a game that manages to challenge you mechanically while also telling a deeply emotional and memorable story.

I've played lots of games recently that I'd never cared about until recently, like the hollow knight games and Persona, but this has to be the best game I've played in 2026. The lore is great, art style is great, bosses are great, it has probably my favourite combat of any 2D game I've ever played, mechanics are satisfying, level design is great. A lot of games have a mixed bag of good and bad bosses, but there weren't any fights in this game that I wouldn't a least consider to be good, especially the final boss, which is the best boss I've ever fought in any game. The game feels punishing but fair, there weren't any times I died and it didn't feel like it was my own fault. Upgrades for things like health and arrows aren't tedious to get and only usually involve gaining enough money or getting certain materials, but it doesn't feel so easy that it isn't rewarding. The skill tree in this game is actually useful for Yi as well and provides very useful features rather than BS button combos that you'll never use. Rating: 9.5/10 PEAK
