Night in the Woods

After watching Night in the Woods on YouTube in 2017, I picked it up again, remembering it pretty fondly. I remembered correctly, but forgot just how brilliant this game is. At its core, NITW is a narrative 2D platformer. Now, that may sound boring as hell, and it certainly is not for everyone. But it is for everyone who wants to lay back, read stories and grow attached to some amazingly written characters. Other reviews are not kidding here: This game is a narrative masterpiece. Dialogues manage to ring all across the emotional spectrum, from witty to comical, to tragic, to melancholic, to cringy (in a good way) and much more. Do yourself a favor and give this game a go. Take an evening for yourself and play it an hour. You'll quickly fall in love with everything this game has to offer. And if you do not, well, you can still refund :) At the time of writing, I still have a lot to replay of the game, so you most certainly get your moneys worth if you buy this full price- which you should. It is just that good.

My favorite thing about this game was chatting with all the side-characters and improving their lives just by kickin' around. This game is best played by teens and young twenty-somethings since they'll get the most catharsis from watching Mae's emotional beats play out. I did feel a sense of relief at the plot's conclusion despite finding the overall main narrative lackluster - [spoiler]I think it may have been a stronger story if the over-arching plot was based in something more grounded. Like Mae suspecting something supernatural is afoot and exploring all the urban legends around town, only for a more realistic scenario to actually be behind the peculiarities going on.[/spoiler]

Unemployment simulator

this is my favorite game of all time. from playing guitar to the harfest to dealing with internal struggles in a ever changing world, this game has it all. its such a beautiful game and there are so many relatable moments that make you feel like they were in your walls while making it. go play it please <3 this game rules ok?

Чертовски душевная игра, которую желаю пройти каждому. Правда не очень люблю опустошение в себе после таких игр, чувство будто кусок жизни потерян и часть души теперь там. Из за этого мне всегда захочится вернуться в игру, чтобы вернуть её, но я считаю что такие игры необходимы людям для того чтобы заново полюбить игры. Когда злой пофигисный человек встречает Мэй, то привязаться к ней очень легко и ассоциировать себя с ней труда не составит, так как у каждого наверняка есть старые друзья детсва и были проблемы с учебой. Единственное, за что хотелось бы упрекнуть игру это за то, что после прохождения остаётся еще много вопросов касаемо культа, персонажей и их судьб, но возможно так и надо. Таким образом, игра явно стоит своих денег, и понравится многим людям, пусть и надо привыкнуть ко дню сурка.

always thought mae was the game character i related to the most until i actually graduated
