Too much micromanagement
I wanted to enjoy this game, but sadly I just didn't find it fun. Looking after the whole pack is very tedious, and for me it very quickly turns into a micromanaging simulator. The genetics part seems fun in concept, vut in execution I barely manage to even keep track of what genes I have. It gets confusing very quickly, especially if you have a lot of animals. I also couldn't really play around with it, because by the time I find a mate, my pack is already on the brink of dying, and it turns into "just mate with whoever so you don't have to start over". The game has passion out into it, and it was made with genuine care, but it almost feels like I'm playing Sims 4 with the amount of micromanaging I have to do.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This game is amazing! I've been following development through its early access (watched like all the JessiMew playthroughs she did) and the development team rlly took in the feedback and polished the game to what it is today. The ui may be a bit hard to understand at first, and the tutorial is a bit sparse, but the fact that the mutation menu has locked items helps ease you into the multitude of genes that this game has. I rlly like that they have genes that exist irl, including the mode of transmission (like with hemophilia being X-linked)! The nicheling models are absolutely adorable too and you can make quite a fun variety! It's a fun game loop for me, you travel island to island, mutate your nichelings to fit your new environment, rinse and repeat. I like inventing stories for each island, adding colorful gems to represent certain beliefs, tribes and other events (it's also nice that the game files let you add extra gem colors). There's a lot of food options, dangers and climates, making the game loop not feel repetitive. I also like that it's turn based, giving you time to think through mutations, match ups and stories, it feels nice and calm. All in all, if you're looking for a chill game with cute critters that you can evolve any way you like, look no further. This might just be the game for you <3
игра очень интересная и очень развивает мозги как бы страшно не звучало для геймеров но в это момент вызывает самые чистые смеси эмоции от легкого раздражения до счастья. очень рад что игра все еще цветет и пахнет и желаю ей быть таковой до конца😘
i literally have no idea what im doing but the creatures are so cute
This is a super cool game! You create a nation of these adorable creatures called "Nichelings" and each indivisual is super unique! They're are a lot of diferant genes that your Nichelings can have and you're goal (in Story Mode) is to get back to your home island.
boring game
I like this game, I play it sometimes
