Next Reign: Kingdom approaches the incremental genre through the fantasy of transforming an almost empty piece of land into a functioning medieval realm. Developed and published by Tiny Tulip Games, the experience starts deliberately small, placing the player in control of limited resources and basic production before steadily introducing more elaborate economic and strategic systems. The progression from a modest field into a productive kingdom provides a clear sense of accomplishment, particularly because expansion involves more than simply watching numbers increase. New buildings, resources, workers, upgrades, and mechanics continually broaden what can be managed. Resource production is at the heart of the gameplay. Workers can be assigned to different jobs, industries become interconnected, and basic materials eventually feed into increasingly valuable production chains. This creates an optimization challenge in which identifying shortages and improving inefficient parts of the economy becomes just as important as unlocking new content. The systems remain approachable, but there is enough interaction between them to encourage experimentation. A poorly balanced production chain can slow advancement, while carefully allocating workers and investments can significantly improve the kingdom's momentum. Automation becomes increasingly valuable as the realm expands. Processes that initially require direct attention can gradually become more self-sufficient, allowing the player to concentrate on newer challenges rather than repeatedly managing basic tasks. This produces one of the game's most satisfying progression loops. Establishing an industry requires effort, optimizing it improves efficiency, and eventually automating parts of the economy creates the feeling that the kingdom has genuinely advanced. Players who enjoy seeing complicated systems gradually become streamlined should find plenty to appreciate. There is substantial progression beyond the basic economy. Numerous interconnected systems, dozens of resources, hundreds of upgrades within individual reigns, and more than 100 prestige upgrades provide both immediate and long-term objectives. Prestige is especially important because restarting does not simply erase previous accomplishments. Instead, repeated reigns contribute toward permanent improvements that make subsequent attempts more efficient. This creates a familiar incremental cycle where resetting becomes a calculated strategic decision rather than a punishment. Military development provides an additional purpose for the growing economy. Players can unlock five different unit types with multiple tiers and experiment with formations and combinations to improve their effectiveness in battle. The combat component is not intended to rival a dedicated real-time strategy game in complexity, but it gives economic advancement a useful destination. Producing more resources and improving infrastructure eventually allows the kingdom to support stronger forces, linking battlefield progression with decisions made throughout the wider economy. The gradual introduction of new mechanics helps prevent the experience from revealing everything too early. Industries, upgrades, resources, military options, and eventually magical elements provide milestones that can noticeably change how the kingdom operates. With the developers presenting the progression as roughly a 20-hour journey, the game feels more deliberately structured than many incremental titles designed around practically endless accumulation. There is still plenty of repetition inherent to the genre, but the presence of identifiable stages gives each period of development a clearer purpose. Its pixel-art presentation complements the gameplay effectively. Rather than overwhelming players with highly detailed interfaces or elaborate three-dimensional environments, the visual design keeps the expanding economy readable. Watching a humble settlement evolve into something considerably more productive reinforces the central fantasy without distracting from the underlying management systems. The straightforward presentation also makes the game relatively welcoming to players who enjoy strategic planning but may not want the complexity associated with traditional grand strategy or large-scale city-building games. The biggest limitation is that its incremental foundation will naturally divide players. Much of the satisfaction comes from accumulating resources, purchasing upgrades, improving efficiency, automating production, and eventually using prestige systems to begin another stronger reign. Anyone who dislikes resetting progress or waiting for economies to develop may find the repetition noticeable. Likewise, players expecting deep diplomacy, political simulation, elaborate tactical warfare, or unrestricted city construction should recognize that these are not the game's primary objectives. Kingdom management is used to enrich an incremental progression system rather than recreate a full medieval simulation. Steam Deck compatibility is less definitive. The Steam store does not currently provide an official Valve Steam Deck compatibility rating for the game, so it should be regarded as unverified rather than confidently labeled Verified, Playable, or Unsupported. Its relatively straightforward interface and lightweight presentation may make handheld play feasible, but without an official compatibility classification, Steam Deck owners should expect that controller behavior, interface readability, or other aspects may require additional adjustment. Overall, Next Reign: Kingdom offers an appealing mixture of incremental progression, economic management, automation, prestige advancement, and lightweight military strategy. Its greatest strength is the feeling of escalation: something that begins as a simple resource operation steadily becomes a network of industries, upgrades, armies, and additional systems. It is particularly well suited to players who enjoy optimizing production and repeatedly discovering more efficient ways to advance. The limited scope compared with a traditional kingdom simulator is worth keeping in mind, but within its intended genre, the combination of active management and increasingly automated growth creates a rewarding sense of momentum. yes
pretty huge amount of content unfortunately they overdid the grind a little and there's virtually no strategy in the skill tree structure most of your progress is preserved upon prestige, which is essential due to the grind, but it also makes prestige-ing feel meaningless not sure if there is a victory state but i'm kind of burned out
top spiel und vom preis brauchen wir nicht reden da hat der hersteller sich untern wert verkauft
