NEO Scavenger is a game where you must survive in the wasteland long enough to figure out who you are. Each turn, you must decide where to go, how to scavenge for supplies, and how to deal with anything and anyone you encounter.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
NEO Scavenger is a survival RPG that refuses to soften the brutality of life after civilization's collapse. Developed and published by Blue Bottle Games, the game begins with a deceptively simple premise: you awaken inside a cryogenic facility with no memories, no equipment, and no clear understanding of the devastated world around you. From that opening moment, the experience places complete responsibility on the player to survive through intelligence, observation, and careful planning rather than scripted objectives or hand-holding tutorials. While the mystery surrounding the protagonist's identity serves as an engaging long-term motivation, the immediate challenge is far more basic: finding enough food, water, clothing, and shelter to stay alive for another day. The result is a deeply immersive adventure where every small victory feels earned through thoughtful decision-making instead of conventional character progression. Rather than relying on fast-paced action, NEO Scavenger emphasizes methodical exploration across a procedurally generated landscape inspired by the ruins of Michigan. Every movement across the hexagonal map carries consequences, consuming valuable time and physical energy while exposing players to changing weather, dangerous wildlife, desperate scavengers, and countless unpredictable encounters. Resources are intentionally scarce, encouraging players to think carefully before making even routine decisions. There are no experience levels or traditional skill trees that gradually make the character stronger. Instead, survival depends almost entirely on understanding the mechanics and making effective use of whatever limited supplies happen to be available. Because locations, loot, and many encounters change from one playthrough to another, each new journey offers fresh challenges that prevent the experience from becoming repetitive. The survival mechanics are the true heart of the game and remain among the most detailed in the genre. Hunger, dehydration, fatigue, illness, injuries, body temperature, and inventory space all require constant attention, creating an experience where preparation often outweighs aggression. Even seemingly insignificant items can become essential components for crafting tools, clothing, makeshift weapons, or temporary shelters. Every piece of equipment serves multiple purposes, forcing players to weigh the benefits of carrying additional supplies against the physical burden of extra weight. This constant balancing act creates meaningful choices throughout the adventure, transforming scavenging into an engaging puzzle where creativity and adaptability are frequently rewarded more than raw combat ability. Combat follows the same grounded philosophy as the survival systems. Encounters are turn-based and rely heavily on tactical thinking instead of quick reflexes. Players must carefully manage stamina, positioning, defensive options, and available equipment while considering whether fighting is even worth the risk. Injuries sustained during battle can have lasting consequences that continue long after the encounter ends, making reckless aggression an expensive mistake. In many situations, avoiding conflict altogether is the smartest option, reinforcing the game's commitment to realism. Permanent death further amplifies the tension, ensuring that every confrontation feels significant because a single poor decision can erase hours of progress. Beyond its demanding mechanics, NEO Scavenger offers an intriguing narrative that gradually unfolds through exploration and player discovery. The search for answers regarding the protagonist's forgotten past intertwines with a larger story involving advanced technology, hidden conspiracies, local folklore, and the mysterious events that destroyed society. Rather than overwhelming players with lengthy cinematic sequences, the game reveals its world through conversations, environmental storytelling, and optional discoveries scattered throughout the wasteland. This understated approach allows the mystery to develop naturally while preserving the player's sense of freedom. Those interested primarily in survival can focus on staying alive, while players who enjoy uncovering lore will find numerous rewarding secrets waiting beneath the surface. Visually, NEO Scavenger adopts a practical presentation that prioritizes clarity over graphical spectacle. The interface and artwork may appear modest by modern standards, but they effectively communicate the information necessary to navigate the game's complex systems. The restrained soundtrack and atmospheric sound design reinforce the feeling of loneliness, vulnerability, and constant uncertainty without distracting from gameplay. While the presentation lacks the visual polish of larger productions, it complements the harsh atmosphere remarkably well, allowing the mechanics and world-building to remain the primary focus. The game's uncompromising difficulty will undoubtedly divide players. Beginners should expect numerous failed attempts before fully understanding how its interconnected systems function. However, these setbacks rarely feel unfair because the game consistently rewards careful observation, patience, and learning from previous mistakes. As players become more familiar with crafting, resource management, navigation, and combat tactics, they gain genuine confidence rather than relying on artificially inflated character statistics. This gradual mastery provides an exceptionally satisfying sense of progression that many survival games struggle to achieve. NEO Scavenger stands as one of the finest examples of a survival RPG built around meaningful player choice and systemic depth. Blue Bottle Games successfully delivers a bleak but fascinating world where intelligence consistently triumphs over brute force, and every successful expedition feels like a personal accomplishment. Although its steep learning curve, unforgiving permadeath, and minimalist presentation may discourage players looking for a more accessible experience, those willing to embrace its demanding design will discover an unforgettable adventure filled with tension, discovery, and rewarding strategic gameplay. This is HARDCORE CrpG with PermaDeath alongside a quiet steep learning-Curve, alonongside active development (extended version) even 13 years (!!) after it hits the Road. A REAL GEM, and tuff as heck. -just got love for it besides being "flashed" hehe, nuff stuff!
Constant Poisoning. Takes a lot of the fun out of it. Interesting otherwise
This game is great, especially on sale for 3 dollars or so. Its a very difficult and punishing roguelike where one wrong move means death. For example, I was perfectly healthy and alive and fine, until I decided to fight someone when I didn't need to. Then he broke my arm and weakened me. Then his backup came and murdered me while I was weakened. For another example, I was at my peak with a fully loaded revolver and oodles of cash in my pockets. Then I picked a fight with the wrong guy and got instantly killed by one stray blow to the head. There's a story in the game, but I haven't managed to figure out how to progress it past a certain point. I won't spoil it here. If you like punishing games and text-based adventures, this is definitely for you!
It's fun and replayable. Hard as f.
dying to a naked man while fully geared is top tier experience imo
Truly one of the games of all time.
