It is unbelievable how NBA 2K continues to be the exact same game year after year, copy-pasted with the exact same legacy flaws and only a handful of minimal tweaks that sound good in marketing material like "X thousand new animations." What are you people actually working on all year if this is what you release as a full-price, brand-new title?
There are countless issues in this game, but take player tendencies for example. Do you ever actually adjust shooting and touch tendencies and simulate a season to see if the results make any sense? If you did, you would notice that someone like Luka Dončić - who averages 33 points in real life - drops down to 21 points a game in simulation. How is that not an immediate red flag that something is fundamentally broken? This is something I could fix for you for free, yet year after year, it remains completely neglected.
Another issue that completely ruins immersion are generated draft classes. Randomly generated players end up looking like disproportionate, bizarrely scaled monsters. Is it really that hard to scan 50 to 100 real people - even fans who opt in - and build a decent pool of realistic face presets that we can customize with different hair and features? It’s a basic quality-of-life feature that they haven't been able to figure out for over a decade.
When you haven't been capable of fixing simple issues like this for years, focusing only on how to resell the exact same product with a "NEW" sticker attached to squeeze money out of people, it's clear where your priorities are. But the problem is also on us - we keep giving you a chance because of our love for basketball, so we buy the game every year anyway.
We have to draw the line somewhere and say STOP, and today is that day for me. I am requesting a full refund right after posting this, and you will never get another cent from me until you fundamentally change. Thankfully, there are always plenty of good games out there that actually respect their players.
