It's all a waiting game and when its not, they do gambling instead. I was curious about the game itself and wanted to check out the unique monster designs and fun sounds they make. I understand that this was made for a mobile setup in mind, however it would've been nicer if there were more to offer if you play on pc or console. My god, right at the beginning of the game it constantly reminds you on using the gem currency to shortcut the waiting time, because the pacing halts to a snail crawl! EVERYTHING has a waiting time. I can accept the breeding and the incubation sure, but if you don't have room on your island you need to gather enough currency to upgrade your living space, which you also have to wait half a day to a full day cycle in real time. The gem currency is somewhat obtainable if you buy the gem mines for each island to a slow escalation also. There's a wait time to even clear out the rocks and foliage to an annoying degree. As I'm writing this, there's a special rave tour event that you can earn tickets for by leveling up. You earn the new monsters, costumes, and extra stuff, by gambling your tickets on a turntable roll. The outcomes vary a lot depending how many tickets you bet on a roll. If you run out of tickets you either go through the slow progression of leveling up to get more, or you shill out actual money to buy more tickets instead. This is gross, and It feels gross. The closest thing for game play is the turn the wheel (which is just gambling), a memory matching game in which you can only play once a day unless you shill out gems to play again, and then there's the colosseum with turn-based RPG gameplay. However, In the beginning they start you off with one monster and you can add more by just placing your duplicate monsters from other islands, however there's also a waiting time to train your monsters one at a time. It doesn't help that the game deliberately slow your progression by preventing you playing unless you have the right monsters for the tasks. Which takes even [i] longer [/i] to do, unless you pay. You are far better off watching Youtube clips of the game from other players than going through this game at all. Please give My Singing Monsters a pass.
