This game is worth looking into. First one in a long time to have me captured so intensely. The game explains nothing to you. Neither will I.
As a cartographer and remote sensoring engineer i can tell it's a masterpiece ! Dev, if you're reading this, you did hit the exact spot of why i've always been drawn to earth observation And from the bottom of my heart, thank you for making this game Hope your doing well <3
Mu Cartographer

Time Played:
3.5 Hours
Last Played:
28th of November, 2017

On seeing the screenshots, my curiosity at how this was even played was piqued, and at the insanely-low price I paid, I figured the risk was worth it. Little did I know, my enjoyment of it would be among the highest of any game I'd played at the time.
Yay:
+ While some may see the lack of direction as a massive con, I thought it enhanced the feeling of discovery. This game does not tell you literally anything, rather plops you in with no instruction, nor direction, then has you figure it out. + Clean interface. + Art charmed me. + Unlockable colour palettes. + Cryptic, abstract story. + Captures the spirit of exploration very well. + Figuring everything out was a joy.
Meh:
~ Nothing I remember
Nay:
- One of the lore points is very fast-moving, and I never even saw it, needing to look it up afterwards.

Verdict:
In spite of my figuring things out faster than I hoped I would, that delightful feeling of cluelessness leading to great discovery, and deep exploration has stuck in my memory banks as one of the best I've had. If you've even the slightest bit of curiosity towards this, I highly-reccommend giving it a go.
Placed in:
1: Fantastically-Favoured.

It's quite special but very interesting.
Mu Cartographer isn't like anything I've ever played before and I think that's its greatest strength. You are presented with a interface with no labels and no guidance. You learn by doing, wiggling each knob and eventually figuring out the mechanics of the game. Unfortunately once you figure out the main three search mechanisms, that's the whole game. Unlock clue, fiddle dials accordingly, find new clue, repeat. It took me 2 hours to complete (minus one secret). The music suits the game nicely. I found the story to be unengaging and, while I had discovered information about each of the main characters, I didn't really care about them. Reading comments, many people seem to find it meditative, but that wasn't an aspect that appealed to me. I wish I could give a neutral rating. I give a thumbs up because of its novelty and style, but wish it did more in other aspects.
