In the exciting sequel to the Mountain Trap series, a trip to the mysterious town of Wilshere reveals that several young women have mysteriously disappeared. Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Sep 1 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Was better than the first game. The graphics were decent. The story was ok but felt a little rushed. A fast travel map was available. The hint button was actually helpful in this one. The mingames were good. The HO screens were not very good. Some of the item translations were off. For example, a candle is not a spark plug. The game was short and is not worth full price. Would recommend if on sale.
"Mountain Trap 2: Under the Cloak of Fear" is a Hidden Object puzzle game, the type you normally see on mobile app stores or even as browser apps. There's literally hundreds of these on Steam, mostly published by Artifex Mundi, many of them free on mobile app stores, but this one will cost you money on Steam. There's a English countryside detective theme to the game, but this is a just a veneer over a tired and overdone set of hidden object minigames and Adobe Flash tier puzzles, wrapped together with a bunch of static screens that you "move" through by tapping your finger on your iPhone screen. While these kinds of games are popular amongst casual gamers, it's difficult to argue this is a great value proposition as a PC game, especially considering the price of this compared to the hundreds of free HOGs on the mobile app stores. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game features mostly static, barely animated 2D images, the kind of thing you expect to see in browser/flash games. While the artwork itself, while mediocre, might be considered passable, the visual presentation here is negligible, it might as well be a slideshow or a Youtube video. Pac-Man, Space Invaders and Asteroids had more advanced animation and visuals going on than this game does. The controls can't be customised because the game has such a dumbed down, simplified interface that it's just iPhone screen tapping stuff. The fact that the interface is this dumbed down might be seen as a problem in itself, however... this is a fairly shallow experience if you're the kind of gamer that likes to play games with deep, rich control schemes and interaction. You'll get none of that here. This looks and feels like a mobile app, but I wasn't able to find it on the app stores. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all). Regardless, for all intents and purposes "Mountain Trap 2: Under the Cloak of Fear" might as well be a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones and play games that might as well be mobile apps. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 130,000+ games on Steam? "Mountain Trap 2: Under the Cloak of Fear" has the laughable, eye-watering price of around $7 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. Because this is the kind of game you can just play for free on mobile phones, it's impossible to recommend anyone should pay money for the same experience on Steam. For comparison, the $7 asking price for this game could get you games like "Grand Theft Auto V", "Subnautica" or "Metro Exodus". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.
Единственный минус, это когда в поиске из списка внизу слова map оказалась игральная карта из колоды XD. Я полчаса искала не card, а map. Непонятно, с какого на какой язык переводили. А в целом, очень добротно. Плюсую.
what is worse than a bad part one of a game series? well, you guessed it a second part that is even worse! the first part finished with a cliff hanger it continuous in this part with no catch nor necessary story telling. just like the first part. i have almost fell to sleep as it is mega boring. pros. ok art work cons. very very boring.... i almost fell to sleep short game (2 hours for the main story) no bonus chapter very bland and boring voice acting... some puzzles take too long repetitive HO scenes bad ending. very sudden.... boring repetitive music overall i do not recommend this one. it is very boring. i give it 1/10 for the game +1 for the cards =2/10
I didn`t play, I used it to get cards
bad game
A massive improvement on the first Mountain Trap, but it's still not there as a top quality HOG. Worth picking up in a sale, or as part of one of the cheap bundles bought elsewhere, but certainly not a £5 game PROs The addition of a map & fast travel Better movement control and direction Slightly faster loading scenes Trading cards Better HOG games A hint button that works A lot more flowing gameplay than the first episode CONs Still no logic to the story Poor translations in the HOGs (Lily/fleur de lis, Candle/Spark plug) The logic between story & actions sometimes falls down Despite the 'To Be Continued' of MT1, the story really doesn't follow on The game just ends, a complete anticlimax Rating 60/10 Replay value 0/10 Play time approx 3 hours
