Motion Soccer PRO

I will preface this by saying I have ONLY played the referee mode, so this review is entirely based on that though I suspect it may be the main selling point anyway. I do referee, so that is what drew me to this. It is refreshing to finally have a refereeing game/mode that is (mostly) functional on steam despite the numerous ones forever 'coming soon'. This game has a lot of potential to be great and I hope continues to be updated because it's a solid base. Is this a finished product? Absolutely not. But I have played a few hours and would give pros and cons as follows: Pros: - It has a referee mode! That works! - The issuing of fouls, cards, corners etc. is pretty seamless and works quite well. - The voice acting, whilst AI I believe, is actually quite funny. - The graphics are decent enough - VAR and assistants can be wrong, as they are in real football, meaning you can trust your own judgement - You can go full corruption and send off whoever you want which is quite amusing - The game modes on offer is good, as are the number of teams. Cons/areas for improvement: - The animations are at times, bizarre. Assistants do weird arm movements whenever they signal throws/corners. Players have turned to spaghetti and seemingly exploded at times. - When through on goal the AI NEVER scores, they seem to just run straight into the goalkeeper. - The deduction of points for not blowing your whistle to restart play from things like corners/throws is not needed. You don't need to blow your whistle for these. - There doesn't seem to be any advantage option in the game, if you ignore a foul to play on you get penalised, even if the team run on and score. - Tackle animations, what looks like a perfectly good tackle can according to the game be 'dangerous' and a red card. - The game is wrong in law in places, though not that surprising. - The terminology used - fouls are too frequently called 'dangerous' even though in law this is only for red card offences. I hope the devs take some of this on board, with a few patches this could be a genuinely excellent referee game.

What a huge ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ disappointment. As soon as I saw it was possible to play as a referee even without VR I immediately bought the game, only to be met with AI slop, terrible animations, laughable UI and generally speaking there isn't much to even consider playing the game for more than 30 minutes. I didn't even mention the bugs and glitches that occur like not being able to even use the whistle while refereeing which is like needed to even do anything. Stay away from this game.
