I died way, way too much and I couldn't save my progress to come back later and play more/finish the game. Thumbs down for me, ended up not being fun.

"Mother's Embrace" - это что-то! Если ты любишь хоррор с элементами загадок и немного мистики, то эту игру стоит попробовать. С самого начала ты втягиваешься в историю парня, который возвращается в свой родной городок из-за сообщения от мамы о том, что у папы что-то случилось. Но вместо обычного городка здесь монстры на улицах и вообще какая-то странная атмосфера, словно в параллельной вселенной оказался. Городок вызывает жуткие ощущения, но именно это заставляет продолжать игру. Ты расследуешь тайны, разгадываешь загадки и пытаешься понять, что здесь происходит. Чем дальше, тем больше загадок и сюжетных поворотов. Ты буквально чувствуешь, как неведомая угроза подстерегает на каждом шагу. Это нечто уникальное, давно не испытывал таких эмоций, пожалуй с первой части Сайлент Хилл. В общем, "Mother's Embrace" - это невероятный квест с удивительной атмосферой.

Very atmospheric game made with passion. It has intriguing story, scary monsters, nice scares. Can easily be completed in one sitting, so makes a perfect horror story for a snowy evening. You can clearly see the influence, so if you like Silent Hill, moody and creepy atmosphere, eastern European apartment blocks, snow, or you are from Latvia then you should definitely check it out. 10/10

Seems like the positive reviews are from people who played this for like 10 minutes and quit.. You have to beat it all in one life, even though it's not long and it has checkpoints, but really in awful places and too far and few in between. Sure the survival / combat stuff, what little there is, isn't an issue, and you can grind out items by repeatedly leaving and entering a building (since EVERYTHING respawns then), but oh my god, the jumping puzzles. The controls are way too awkward and awful to have them. Please put a save mechanic in OR put the dang checkpoints BEFORE THE JUMPING AREA where you die when you mess up. This is more of an infuriating than scary game. It doesn't cost much and may look charming, but sadly it is ruined.

シナリオ重視でジャンプスケアが無いので雰囲気がいいなと思った。 ライト、ヒットポイント、スタミナの3つ管理しながら進むのとリスポーン位置が毎回そこで本当に合ってるか？って思うくらいにはダルい。 メモを拾いながらストーリーを深掘りしていくのはとても良いのだけれど迷路を逃げながら進み、後半アクションを求められるのだが、落ちた先で敵にやられるとアクション前からではなく迷路のはじめからなのが面倒だった。 その後の塔の中の長い螺旋階段を敵を倒しながら進み、抜けた先で水に落ちたら塔の入り口からやり直しになったのが面倒すぎて辞めました。 雰囲気良かったけど何よりも面倒ってのが勝っちゃってやり続ける気になれなかった。
