Monster Truck Destruction

I was initially going to recommend this game until I found out that there is a free mobile version ( same game, same developers) which has a lot more content and still gets updated. More trucks, customization, more arenas and even a level editor. There is also a nice browser to download and play community made levels, kinda like Steam's workshop. By buying the game here you basically give the developers more money to work on the mobile version while you get the abandoned and unfinished one. So, should I spend the time to write a proper review? Maybe not, but here are some positives about the game - it has realistic monster truck behavior, meaning that the vehicles will bounce and drift similar to a real monster truck. It is not a 1:1 representation but pretty close. I also like the destruction physics, both on the truck and the environment. In the freestyle mode you can run over cars and bend them like a soda can. Your vehicle can also be completely destroyed and even lose all 4 wheels which is kinda funny. The trucks and arenas are not fictional, but are based on the ones from real life. So if you are a fan of monster jam shows then you will most likely be able to drive your favorite monster truck ( not the newer ones though, those are probably in the mobile version ... ). Another thing I liked is the soundtrack which is basically a collection of badass metal riffs. Some negatives - Multiplayer is still in " Beta ", but it actually stopped working a while ago. Achievements don't work. If they ever decided to update this version then my guess is that they would also bring the insane amount of ads and microtransactions that the mobile version has ( and the game would probably become F2P, which means you wasted your money buying it here. Except if they give something like a bonus to those who purchased the game, I don't know ).

Monster Truck Destruction is a pretty small game with almost no content to offer but for what it is it can be fun at times, dont expect anything speical its ok at best: + 48 events + good monster truck liscened car selection + upgrade stystem is neat + sountrack is ok but nothing special - after you finish a race you cant skip the end you have to wait for the bot to finish the race - bots are kinda odd in this game in some tracks and rounds they feels a little to fast other times braindead - freestyle is annyoing here the truck losses way to fast his wheels and the points to win is from time to time way to high - rarely i get stuck in the start race i have to restart the race to get it to work again Game was kinda fun for a pretty short time but there isnt much to do even for this low price but on a sale its worth a short look even thought sometimes it feels a little unpolished!

[/h3] [b] If you still insist on playing this game (may the Lord be with you), here are some tips: [/b] [list] [*] Buy the Bigfoot #16 first (its the best of the cheap ones) [*] Upgrade it as soon as you can [*] Play single event first to learn and unlock new tracks (I reccommend the drag race mode, its easier than freestyle) [*] Because of the cheating AI: learn where all the lines are that you must cross on the tracks (visible or invisible) [*] If you can, drive outside of the track to avoid jumps and obstacles like cars to shorten the lap time [*] Also if you can, cut the track, take shortcuts and only drive through the necessary lines to get the race approved [*] Dont waste any money after you've fully upgraded your Bigfoot #16, save it until you can buy the Bigfoot X Tour (the best value for money) [*] Upgrade it when possible (a fully upgraded Bigfoot X Tour is good enough for all races, so you dont need to buy any other monster trucks) [*] In freestyle mode you can drive over the cars/buses etc a lot of times (use this to "cheat" if needed) [*] In championship mode, remember if you f*ck up and there is time left on the clock or you have not raced to the finish line yet, you can restart the race at any time [*] Have fun I guess (very doubtful...) this game made most of my childhood and this game is great it still holds up pretty well i just wish it had the ability to create custom trucks using the bodies from other trucks
