MONOPOLY: The Board Game

Good against others, bad for yourself I play by myself while waiting in parent pick up line at my kids school or in offices or things of a similar nature. I don’t sit around on the couch and play, but here is a few things to keep in mind: I played about 50 games against the cpu with 1 set to hard. Once you set a cpu to hard, it has nothing to do with trading anymore. You will never have more than 3 properties on the first board rotation, the hard cpu will always have 4, and any other cpu will have 3. Every chance or chest card they pull will always be to collect money,get out of jail free, or pointless in the early game that they do not have to pay, meanwhile, you will always pay or move. The difficulty of the cpu’s has nothing to do with trading, the dice and board work against you. Making sure you don’t have enough to trade with. It also has a weird leveling system whereas you play, you gain experience that levels your profile. If you choose to start one. Problem is, it’s pointless. You do not unlock anything. You don’t gain anything. It’s just a random number next to your name. The only way to get new pieces or boards is to spend money. And some of it is outright ridiculous. $45usd for a set? On a mobile game that you already bought for $5. Granted, at least theirs no ads which is nice. But you get spammed constantly to buy boards and dice n stuff. It’s annoying. It gets the job done as long as the cpu is set to medium or lower, it’s more random. I would absolutely give it more stars if the above was different. At least they have interesting modes and ways to play.

"Hard" computer is too easy The computer player settings are too limited in gradation and the "hard" setting is much too easy. Current "hard" is, at best, a 6/10 level player. Examples of dumb decisions it will make: 1. Too easy to get sets: It trades me to a complete set 3/3 for it to get 2/3 cards in a set. Human has 2 orange cards and 1 red. Computer has 1 orange card and 1 red. Human easily trades away red to get orange from Computer, resulting in Human 3/3 Orange and Computer 2/3 red. Human has monopoly, doubled rent, and opportunity to build while computer has regular rent and no opportunity to build. Computer took minor gain to give away huge gain to Human. Computer should have extracted some premium from human. 2. Computer swaps away seemingly equal cards with Human. Example: the Railroad on the green blue side is a wee bit less valuable than Reading (which benefits from an "Advance to Reading" card), or the other two railroads (which benefit from being along the Jail and Go to Jail loop (higher probability of being landed on). 3. Computer makes mediocre decisions on building, unbuilding and mortgage priorities, particularly in color groups. For example, it will build 2 houses on Park Place and 1 on Boardwalk, rather than the other way around. Boardwalk is a wee bit more likely to be landed on (advance to Boardwalk card) while both cards are 1 square away (relative positions 27 & 29 from jail) from position 28 (4 rolls * 7 expected roll) away from jail. Computer does similarly for other color groups. 4. Computer badly misprices RR - especially when I have 3 RE and it has 1 RR, it will significantly undervalue my purchase / swap price to get RR. 5. Computer misprices utilities, especially the leap from 1/2 to 2/2 when die roll multiplayer changes from *4 to *8. These and many more mistakes may be fine at an intermediate level (or even "hard" level if. D only if there are legitimate harder levels). Please consider making a 5 , 7, or 10 tier system that includes smarter computer play and a better matching of Human vs. Computer skill levels for a more enjoyable experience across of range of skill levels.

Do Not Update Don’t update the app, my phone auto updated all my apps, and I lost my whole profile on here. It won’t let me log in, it just says I have no internet…while sitting in my apartment with full internet showing on my phone. I even shut my phone data off and JUST tried internet, didn’t work. I used to love playing just mindlessly after a long day at work… but it’s not so fun now after my whole entire profile and 121 levels is gone. Kind of disappointing. Anyone know how to fix that? I’m afraid if I delete the app I’ll delete my history forever, if it’s not already gone forever.

Great Game Original Feel This game is as true to the board game as possible. Some say the dice are not truly random, and seem rigged or decided, however the boardgame feels that way too😂so I don’t actually notice anything off. Just one problem, IF FIXED I WILL CHANGE TO 5 STARS IMMEDIATELY! One player landed on my boardwalk with 3 houses, had to raise money. He sold all his property to another player so he didnt have to pay rent. I got nothing and he ended up bankrupt. Loser’s retaliation? I don’t see why players are allowed to make deals while they owe rent. They should be done before or after taking on the risk. Feels like someone else collected rent instead of me. Also, i see some players play a game as 2 different players with different accounts. When the time is right, they transfer everything to one player for no apparent reason.

Ai OBVIOUSLY CHEATS I played a game filled solely with ai players other than myself, and the ai did many things that are just clear cheats to help itself. It unmortgaged 6 properties on its turn using only 300 dollars, the price of which should have been upwards of 450 if I remember correctly. Then when I get the controls on my turn and roll, suddenly the ai places a hotel on a mortgaged property, unmortgages it, meanwhile it’s still my turn and there is still a property in this color set mortgaged. It is just the clearest example of blatant cheating, it goes against many of monopolies rules all at once. I have had experiences somewhat similar playing with ai or even playing with ai replacements for real players and honestly it has made me very much dislike this game; I would like to request my money back.

Dice is rigged!!! It’s actually my first time writing a review and I feel compelled to do so. There are obvious patterns with the dice which controls the game to suit the developer’s agenda. In the multiplayer mode, I’ve noticed there’s always a none human player(bot). I know this because each player has a level and you’d clearly see this bot character has none with an obvious none human name. The dice is rigged to favor this bot the most with only 1 cycle around GO and it already has 6-7 properties meanwhile real players are with either one or two. I took my time to play the game so many times and this same pattern is constant. This game is a beautiful game that should be enjoyed with the randomness of a dice but that doesn’t seem to be the case. On several occasions I’d have some properties with hotels on them and 2 different cycles around GO will have nobody landing on them but around them. Yet the dice takes me to that one property I’m hoping not to land on. It seems the game was developed to keep older people and kids in the app trying so hard to win a game. I’ve noticed they’re other people complaining about the same thing in the reviews with no responses from the developers. This game was paid for to even be able to download it. The least you guys can do it to make it a fair game and allow for strategy, luck and bargaining chips be the determining factors for who wins not a rigged dice!!!

Opinion and requests! I absolutely love this game in physical board game terms and even on here in the app. It’s an amazing game no matter what. I’ve bought this game for a few friends just so we can all play together, on separate devices too. It’s very competitive and fun. Really easy to learn and the strategy of saving your money can apply to real world too. So while you enjoy playing the game and have all the fun with your friends and family you can also learn a bit too! ALTHOUGH, I do have TWO requests I really really want a teams mode for online matches, and just pass and play too. Lastly I know the devs need to make money BUT the character tokens are far too expensive, and is kind of a rip off.. they should be a lot more cheaper, for example there is a bundle of golden colored tokens, the same ones as the silver ones just a different color, and it sells for $32 and that’s just so much to spend on a mobile game like this. Other than that I love this game and it’s so fun to play, PLEASE MAKE A TEAM MODE.

Need winning prizes Good game. But you don’t win anything. Everything else you pay for. Winning a quick game gets you nothing after playing for about 45 minutes.

Playing with friends and multiplayers I wish the game made it so you can play multiplayer with yourself and a friend and 2 other random multiplayers or even 3 friends and a random multiplayer because a friend group might not all want to buy the game to all play to together maybe or 1 or 2 of them want to buy it and play together

Game locking You need to add a report feature for players who game lock the board so they can no longer play!
