A directionless night-shift worker clings to a dying MMORPG, a legendary White Unicorn mount, and the belief that old games are more "real" in this short psychological horror visual novel about escapism and being left behind.

Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 4 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Nothing is changing...
Leo works nights at a quiet convenience store near the station... scanning drinks, while waiting for the moment he can slip back into the staff room.
Tonight, the rare White Unicorn event begins in EdenVale Online... an old MMORPG almost nobody plays anymore.
Leo logs in.
EdenVale is one of the last honest games... It's what gives Leo meaning.
Everyone else seems to be moving forward.
From behind the counter, every polite word feels like proof that Leo has fallen behind.

Joking around the inferiority.
Piko talks fast and ridicules dead MMOs... he acts like nothing matters unless it is new, ironic, or trending. But old games have a way of holding onto people who pretend they stopped caring.

Silence can be thick if you're hiding something.
Uma enters late... Medicine and cigarettes is what she's after. Leo thinks he understands the distance between them... But does he really?
Monologin is a short psychological horror visual novel about dead MMOs, loneliness, projection, online identity, and the strange comfort of hiding inside a world that only feels real because someone else might still be there.
Key Features:
A psychological horror story about escapism, superiority, loneliness, and the fear of being left behind.
Short but intense experience (~30 minutes) designed for a single sitting.
Choice-driven progression leading to three endings.
A dual-perspective structure that reframes Leo’s encounters with Ari, Dai, Piko, and Uma.
Grunge-inspired visual style with fluorescent night-shift atmosphere.
Original ambient soundtrack built around store hums, station noise, and dying servers.
Retro MMO interface, empty digital spaces, and low-key psychological horror.
Reviews

The game has some depth to it, even though its short and sweet. Reminded me of a sociology course I took in college where we see ourselves and our peers/friends/family/etc in a different light in our head, and what is actually played out in a reality.

Eng and Pt-Br review
Wow! Excelente jogo!

Eng and Pt-Br review
Wow! This isn't a horror story; it's just real life. I just wanted to give everyone a hug! This time, Vainsane outdid themselves by crafting a story in just a few minutes that truly left a mark on me and scared me more than any horror movie, not the fantasy horror, but real-life horror. Excellent game!
Is there a happy end? Is there an end at all?
10/10 Alll of VAINSANE games are short horror games with atmospheric music and low text with nice graphics and characters! This ones has a deeper meaning no spoilers. I really like that. I won't forget this one! It's true we think others have it better off but that's not really the truth but it is perpetuated by social media and television. I don't think Leo was giving himself enough credit. Debt, competition, loans, all that stuff is annoying and just working a simple or low stress job with no debt no problems is how I live....although I work in a different setting. Yeah! Random life advice....this one is good all of the games are good I buy every single one of them as fast as I can find them and so should you!
For me this was too cringe as it reminded me of when I was 12-13, but it provoked an emotion out of me which is good. Dai was a real one.
