[h1]A masterpiece that has stood the test of time and hundreds of hours of gameplay.[/h1] I've gone through this game inside and out, unlocked 100% of the achievements (60 out of 60), spent almost 250 hours here (and I don't plan to stop), and I can say with confidence: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is one of the best hack-and-slash games in the history of the gaming industry. Let me explain why. [b]Pros:[/b] [list] [*] [b]Combat System:[/b] It's great. The "Blade Mode" mechanic (freely cutting enemies into pieces) still feels unique and fresh. Parrying requires perfect timing, but it brings incredible satisfaction when executed successfully. [*] [b]Bosses and Music:[/b] Words aren't enough. Each boss is a separate work of art with its own philosophy. Jamie Christopherson's soundtrack is pure adrenaline (Especially [i]"It Has to Be This Way"[/i]). The music kicks into full effect precisely at the most epic moment of the battle, giving you goosebumps even after a dozen playthroughs. [*] [b]Plot and Memes:[/b] Raiden's story is full of pathos, cyberpunk politics, and eternal questions about the nature of war. And, of course, memes about nanomachines and Senator Armstrong are already immortal classics. [*] [b]Difficulty:[/b] Beating the Revengeance difficulty level, especially the DLCs for Sam and Bladewolf, is a tough but fair challenge for your fingers and nerves (especially if you want to 100% the game). Trust me, I know what I'm talking about! [/list] [b]Cons:[/b] [list] [*] The camera sometimes has a mind of its own, which can be annoying. The graphics and level design are understandably a bit outdated (the game is 13 years old, after all), but the excellent art style and smooth animations fully compensate for this. [/list] [b]Bottom line:[/b] If you like fast-paced action games, cool music, and hardcore challenges, this game is a must-buy. 9 sliced Metal Gears out of 10. Have a great day!
