Their plot and dialogue of their solo story mode (at least that beginning of it) are very poorly written, and feel almost AI generated. It’s very “I was a generic farmer, in a generic nameless village, but then the generic nameless war happened, and my generic nameless father said “Run my son!” but then I had a rich uncle- the only character given a name in the intro, but he died and left me his estate.”. Then you get to talking to your first NPC shortly after you run down a road a little ways, and the dialogue is so corny, and generic, my wife and I couldn’t stop thinking it was just AI slop. The Oxbow is their multiplayer mode, and its story is much better, and feels like it has much more depth and effort put behind it, and my wife and I have been having a much better experience doing that mode. I’m liking the characters, and the atmosphere. My wife and I got married, and it plays a really fun short cinematic, and boom bam shazam, you are husband and wife. We narrowly avoided a wolf attack in the night, and I was soon after crushed by a tree, and in true medieval fashion, I made my wife a widow within a fortnight of our wedding. I’m having fun so far thankfully, with the multiplayer mode.

my villagers can't handle two sentences before they need a whole day to think about it and i have to wait again. I can't recommend this.

I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy this game, because I usually play more cutesy style survival/ sim games. Howveer, the game play mechanics and hilarious comments from the villagers won me over. The level of achievability and challenge in this game are just right to keep you interested. Plus you can really build depth in your Village through decorations and efficient layout. It's just marvellous!

Really enjoyed the survival and "city" building aspect.

This game is truly a masterpiece, and it’s also incredibly well-optimized. I’d give it a perfect 10/10!
