My first story-driven ARPG! 10/10!!!
GAMEPLAY - 9/10 🏋️
Class:
- You can choose your class. I selected Infiltrator across the Trilogy. Based on my playthrough, I strongly believe that Tactical Cloak is one of the best survival skills in the Trilogy. 😆
Weapons: Firearms and Melee
- ME1 and ME3: You can wield different firearms: Pistol, SMG, Assault Rifle, and Sniper Rifle. For melee, you can use a Blade attached to your gun.
- ME2: Firearms are tied to your class. 😭 Infiltrators are trained to use Sniper Rifles and Heavy Weapons. Without Tactical Cloak, I don't think I would have survived ME2. 😆
Keybinding (Guns):
- In ME1, you can assign a key to a specific firearm for faster switching. They removed this function in ME2 and ME3. 😭 Be prepared to scroll, scroll, and scroll. 😆
Powers: Combat, Tech, and Biotics
- Only in ME3 can you reassign bonus powers from Combat, Tech, and Biotics.
Squad Command Positions:
- Rally, Attack, and Move Squadmate 1 and 2 to a specific position.
Vehicles: Armored Transport (Mako and Hammerhead)
- ME1: The Mako will definitely test your patience when driving while trying to aim and fire its cannon. 😆
- ME2: The Hammerhead is fun to drive, although it's only available for specific recovery missions.
- ME3: Where is our VEHICLE?! 😭
STORY - 8/10
Endings: 4
Romance:
- I love having the option to play as a female Shepard and romance other women. Though I only focused on one particular blue archaeologist the moment I saw her throughout the Trilogy. 👀💙 So, I guess I can't say how the romance routes go for the other female romanceable characters.
Crew:
- Main squad: Each character's development feels like watching Shepard work with a stranger who naturally becomes her brother or sister. 💙 It's bittersweet, really. Just prepare your heart and mind once you become emotionally invested in them.
- Other Normandy crew and people: You get just enough background about each individual to understand how they ended up working for the Alliance, Cerberus, or other groups.
Dialogues (between Shepard and the crew, and among the crew):
- There are mostly new dialogues after every side mission, as well as conversations after every Priority Mission. Oh hell! Prepare your stomach and jaw for the laughs. 😆
OVERALL:
This game taught me patience, focus, strategic thinking, and the importance of thinking thoroughly or trusting your gut when making decisions in different situations. It also taught me to enjoy every conversation with the crew, whether on the Normandy, in the Citadel elevators, or in the middle of a firefight. 😆 The crew made me laugh, made me sad, broke my heart, and made me cry. The ME Trilogy will definitely stay in my heart and mind for a long time.
