I was going to post a positive review. I've played all of these game in the past, but playing through with the Legendary Edition, I realize how many DLC's I was missing. So much I hadn't seen! So I bust my butt, do every single Galaxy at War item, every side quest, every little thing in the game to get the best ending, the ending I've seen 3 or 4 times before playing Mass Effect 3 back when... And it doesn't happen. Shepherd dies. I don't get that little easter egg of Shepherd making it. You see, several of those galaxy at war sidequests bugged out. And I didn't realize until too late that I didn't have enough points to fully "win." Why would I? I had done everything correct. Sure, I can replay the ending. However it's ~2-2.5 hours long of not allowing any saves. It's not like I can skip back to the crucial decision point. I've used a savegame editor to fix the broken points. But the moment is gone. One long, uninterrupted drive ruined at the goal line. And I don't feel like restarting the end. It won't have the same meaning. If you own the games, this edition is not worth it. Especially at $60. It doesn't accomplish anything that mods don't already do better. If you pick it up on a mega sale, maybe it's worth it. BUT take stock of the bugs as you approach the ending. The difference between perfect and not good enough is painful.
Did EA just release a good remaster collection that is fairly priced and has no bs monetization attached!? I must have switched timelines at some point... Jokes aside, this legendary edition is absolutely fantastic. The Mass Effect games are certified classics, and staples in the RPG genre. The remaster collection tastefully elevates the games to a higher fidelity and adds some welcome modernization to the in parts rather antique gameplay, mostly in the first game. I'm especially impressed by the lighting work on ME 1, it now looks even better than 2 in some areas. Not having to worry about the confusing mess of post-launch content for this series is also a big plus, it's all bundled in a neat package here, and works out of the box. There's little to be said about the games themselves, they're a thoroughly known quantity by now, both in their strengths and flaws (looking at you, ME 3 ending). Nevertheless, they are some of the best narrative and character based RPG's out there, still; and in my opinion represent the best work Bioware has done to this very day.
better the the og xbox
Great, epic space voyage and story.
Best game Ive ever played
I love these games but so far ME1 is riddled with bugs. I would have expected bugs from the main story to be fixed at the very least but playing on insanity I've had to go back to saves and replay several times because something got stuck or didn't load. The game seems to fix itself if I load a save far enough back but losing all that progress is really annoying. The game is more of a texture upgrade than it is a remaster so keep that in mind. idk if its worth the 60 bones especially if you already have the originals.
Can it wait for a bit? I`m in a middle of some CaLiBrAtIoNs
one of the best rpg games i have played in my life, the companians in this game makes you feel attached .you will remember them even after completeing this triology and 10/10 on replayablity
What can I say that hasn't already been said. One of the absolute best Sci-Fi RPG's in the wild. Garrus Vakarian, Mordin Solus, Urdnot Wrex, and, the one and only, Tali'Zorah - best written characters ever. This game makes me feel like no other. Mass Effect 1 is a bit rough, a clearly new formula in gameplay department, not yet perfected, a diamond in the rough. Mass Effect 2, gameplay perfected, my absolute favorite of the three, love the characters, the progression, the skills, graphics, quests, it all just fits together perfectly. And the dynamics between the characters. Mass Effect 3, massive stakes, takes on the aspect of fear of failure and loss very seriously in the war against absolutely overwhelming force. With Citadel DLC also introduces a bit of much lighter atmosphere. Best to do it when you've got all the characters unlocked. Javiks "I rarely get picked" cracked me XD, Tali's "Come back to me" made me shed a tear. If you haven't played it, even if you're not a fan of Sci-Fi, it is worth trying. I'm telling you, this hits hard. Keelah se'lai.
