10/10 Terminé conviertiendome en un demonio que come los sueños y esperanzas de la gente.
Only played for a little bit so far but I really like it, your character has a stat page based on their choices and you get an achievement for petting a horse B) edit; finished the story and ahhhh its so good, I love all the characters and the plot, I didn't manage to cure the sickness but I got a bf that likes rabbits so I won either way <3
Pretty good. I admit, the writing can get dour and some of the less-interactive scenes can drag on. Still, the game made me feel sympathy towards the characters, the weight of the choices on my back and the sheer stress of racing the plague with limited resources. Maybe not the absolute best CoG product, but definitely in the Top 10.
as a fan of choose your own adventure novels as a kid, dream come true Both main characters are well written and like-able, and there are plenty of fun historical references to plague doctor practices. This is well balanced with the more fantasy elements of the world, and help it to feel grounded. by far my favorite game by this publisher, -- I wish there were more by the same author. (the save of the demo doesn't carry over to the full version however in my experience, the only downside i saw)
Woke agenda with medieval realistic elements is a bad mixture that broke the element of immersion for me. Shallow writing, no dark scenes to be found, small number of choises that has no real impact on the story. I played and loved the vampire the masquerade games of the company but this game is really bad.
“Mask of the Plague Doctor” is one of those Choice of Games titles that doesn’t have any major flaws while also falling a bit short of leaving a lasting impression. Even so, my original one-line review did not do it justice, and this update is meant to rectify that. (7/10) The writing in the game is consistently good, the setting is interesting, and playing as a plague doctor gives you a unique role with plenty of different approaches to take. Whether you lean into medical expertise, diplomacy, or more forceful methods, the game generally supports the style you want to play. The romance options are fine, but just fine. Tame and not especially memorable, but pleasant enough when they appear. This isn’t a romance-focused title, and it shows, but nothing feels out of place or poorly handled. Politics play a noticeable role in the story, and while I can’t recall the specifics years later, I do remember that the political elements were clear and easy to follow. You’re given enough context to understand who the factions are and why your choices matter, which is more than can be said for some other titles in the genre. Like most Choice of Games stories, it has structural limitations, but they’re handled smoothly enough that I rarely felt railroaded. The options I wanted to pick tended to appear, and the structure supported my choices without forcing me down a path that felt wrong for my character. Overall, it’s a well-crafted and enjoyable story with no major weaknesses; just nothing that pushed it into unforgettable territory for me. A solid, engaging read that I’m glad I played, even if it didn’t stick with me long-term. (7/10)
One of my favourite games. Don't buy this game if you're not a reader though,
