Money grubbing

Great game but terrible owners. Too much greed and the rates are extremely low. All your equipment get destroyed in the early game so it stops your progression in the early game. DO BETTER

Literally the worst game ever. If you dont spend thousands a month, youre getting no where. Also do your research, their history isnt exactly clean.

The grind is abysmal, Nexon is practically the embodiment of greed. There's not much more that needs to be said. But-- I had several characters above 200, but lots that felt almost impossible to get to even that point. I think my highest level was 234. It felt like I wasted my time even getting there. This was back when the Lara job came out, so I'm not fully up to date. That said it never felt like I would ever reach level cap. Hell I didn't even feel like I'd ever reach 250. I can't recommend enough against playing this game. It's just a total waste of time and money. Nexon should bring back a pre-Big Bang server, as it was, and leave it the ♥♥♥♥ alone forever.

AVOID like ♥♥♥♥, this is the worst pay to win of them all and yet it used to be a cool game, 20 years ago. Now its like the trump family owns it and its just there to get you to buy a pass so you can buy another pass so then theres a new pass to buy, for simple free ♥♥♥♥ in other games. AVOID !!!!!!!

This game is being led by probably some of the most incompetent group of people known to humanity.

MapleStory has become a contrived and interconnected web of countless unrelated storylines, plot points, and characters; all with the express purpose of selling you egregiously overpriced gear and cosmetics. What this means is that levelling up is meaningless, to the point that you can have a level 200 character in a little under an hour-- after which point you are immediately thrown into the deep end; under-geared, under-stat, and underprepared to fight enemies that quite literally one-shot you. I can only wait for MapleStory Classic to be able to play this game and/or take it seriously... but now seeing that TWO WHOLE WEEKS of early access costs 60 shmeckles, I think I will just wait for the free release and hope for the best. Don't play modern MapleStory unless you're an enfranchised player with 20+ years of experience and character knowledge under your belt. The storylines are basic and the cutscenes are NOT skippable.
