One of my favorite games! If you have Thalassophobia, this can be an amazing way to both give yourself a thrill through that fear as well as work through said fear. On top of that you get to be a kick ass shark and eat everything!
SHARKKKKKKKKK
Very flawed game, but it's dumb fun. It's definitely the kind of game that plays itself for you, with intrusive hand holdy UI and easy button mash gameplay that makes the game feel like it's on rails. The progression is too linear and simple. There's only really a few different "paths" to take and most players will have very similar power curves and playstyles. The intrinsically easy difficulty doesn't lend to cautious or creative gameplay, either. Despite all that, it's just a lot of fun swimming around different areas chomping on stuff, slowing getting bigger, more upgrades, and unlocking new abilities while progressing the extremely simple but serviceable story. I'd only buy it on sale, personally.

The biggest issue with this game and the number 1 reason I won't recommend it is Unreal Engine 4. Unreal has become a poorly optimised slop fest that runs poorly on the hardware that's currently available at the time of its creation (with what can only be assumed is the premise that it will run better on future hardware), but then lacks proper support and compatibility with said future hardware! The number 1 issue I see here is people complaining about the game crashing, and that was honestly my biggest issue too. (Even my favourite Youtuber got enraged by how frequently this game was crashing for them) It turned what was an otherwise enjoyable and fun game into a total slog. Nothing upsets me more than having a game crash mid-mission! There is also another classic Unreal Engine bug when it comes to streaming assets: when you move between areas, the game will experience sudden drops in frame rate, high CPU usage, and is often then most likely to crash. This is again due to a lack of compatibility, which can be easily fixed ... if you're willing to run a PowerShell command each time you launch the game to set Processor Affinity to only the "Performance cores" on your CPU. This is because Unreal Engine 4 predates the concept of "Efficiency Cores", which means the engine doesn't really handle them well. However, this will in turn also further negatively impact performance, and the framerate drops will be much worse. It's a terrible experience when you're in a boss fight, and you have constant framerate drops when you need to time a dodge perfectly, or you could die and need to start over. Seriously, please, stop using Unreal Engine! Other than that, the one bug that is entirely on the devs is when the game gets stuck on 60 FPS without V-Sync. This is fixed by going into settings and changing literally any setting under your display settings (like "View Distance"), then changing the setting back to what it was, and then the bug goes away. I really enjoyed this game, but I don't think I've ever experienced a game crashing this frequently before in my entire life, and this experience has left me feeling quite sceptical about the sequel. It's such a shame, because when it works well it's a fun game. The only issue gameplay-wise is manoeuvring on land and controlling your jumps out of water. I wasn't fond of the comment the game made about "What's so great about being white?", but I get it; it launched in 2021 ... it was a different time then. With all that in mind, it goes without saying the biggest flaw here is the game engine. So if you're ready to see a game crash on you more times than you can count, go for it. For me personally, the crashing was so frequent and so annoying that I was racing to complete it and get every achievement, so I could simply uninstall it and never play it again.
great game really fun if you like sharks you have to buy. I love the realistic fiction theme have to buy!!!!!!!!!!
