Litterally just a walking sim to a single jumpscare. Don't bother.
to have this level of tension and atmosphere with such a small footprint both in file size and game size is nothing short of impressive. id absolutely play a longer game with this exact vibe, if not premise. nice work. i hope the dev makes more games at some point.
It's too short to call it a waste of time; I think it's fine.

Kostenloser Retro-Horror in 4 min. Schöner Look, gute Atmosphäre und definitiv einen Blick für Zwischendurch wert.
I platinumed this in just 5 minutes. I'm only answering to "The Platinum Hunter" from now on.
This game brings back memories, it was the first game I'd ever made a horror based content on, it was fun editing a video for the first time, I love this small lil horror experience.
One of the most unexpected endings!🎣
A simple kaidan with Evangelion cicadas in bg: lure ══════════════════════════════•⊱✦⊰•════════════════════════════

[th]Criteria[/th] [th]Score[/th] [th]Commentary[/th]

Cost-benefit 75/100 It's free and short, but I played two times to actually check for a different ending, maybe changing fishing positions? Well, no. That was disappointing.

Aesthetics 65/100 Unremarkable style; maybe the absence of the Old Man's face is a nice touch, or maybe just a limitation.

Performance 90/100 Very simple, so very light game; -10 for not running natively on Linux.

Soundscape 75/100 Good transitions from the road to shrine. The cicadas are nice; I'm still not sure if they're like a free audio used by many studios or something? It sounded like EVA cicadas, tho cicadas are cicadas. Also the cicadas DO NOT speak Japanese, in this game.

Gameplay 65/100 It delivers a short audiovisual (not so much intereractable) story, so there's not much gameplay involved. I gues there's more walking, thinking and feeling (as a player) involved, more than playing or ludemes. It does feels like some kind of a nightmare; the aspect or ritual of it; like "Bring me more two and you get the prize", and when you go back, it's the same, but also not the same. And then something happens. Brilliant!

Ludicity 50/100 Is decent ludology, particularly the ending. The fact you can't really control much is not so fun tho.

Playability 85/100 Well it walks, talks and fishes, that's better then a real fish OR a real wheelchaired fisherman. Also it feels good on controller.

Interface N/A There's none. A little oddity.

Casuistry 45/100 Offers no variety moral choices; there's no choice at all. However, you could argue it could be about ambition. But after the second fish, you can return without approaching the bait, to find the road empty and the Old Man gone; as you have to go back to complete the game, there's no real rewards, besides the final catharsis.

Theocentricity 55/100 It proposes at least a metaphysical or transcendental intervention
for the player in the end,
, at least, considering the
creature that appears
, but it's very open to interpretation (that doesn't mean imagination).

Narrative 25/100 Poor and very predictable.

Replayability 15/100 Not worth the time to replay at all for me or a majority of people, as it seems. But the game is free

Synthesis (Final Score) 61/100

══════════════════════════════•⊱✦⊰•════════════════════════════ I will not write a full review on lure as I wouldn't recommend it. And thanks for the fish! ══════════════════════════════•⊱✦⊰•════════════════════════════
Nice and short with an uneasy atmosphere, dated visuals and a fun ending. 10/10, would fish again.
