this is super good!! it feels like playing mystic messenger again. i havent finished it yet, but my only feedback is knowing when you gain or lose points with specific characters like mystic messenger hearts. >w<
So far as a early access game, I've really enjoyed it and I was invested in the characters routes. I also really enjoyed the little tasks we had to do to continue to the next day, it really added to the immersion. a few tiny things I didn't really like was the fact that I have to wait till the 25th to get more days since the days really don't last that long. Another thing I was a bit disappointed on was the fact that there wasn't any scenes for the irl meetups, which kind of disappointed me a bit but not to the point were it put me off. Overall I do recommend this if you played a date with death or killer chat, a good 8/10!

Amidst the sea of chatlike dating sim, lovebyte.exe manages to be appealing not only through the visuals and soundtracks but also in what it has to offer currently in writing. First let me preface this that I would not recommend this game to someone who hasn't played an otome game like Mystic Messenger or japanese otome games, the reason being you would be very disappointed to pay this since the MC's personality is limited to the 2-3 choices you get which is the standard in japanese otome games. For players like me who has played otome games for a long time, limited personality choices is a non-issue but for some players who are used to playing otome/dating sims with a lot of personality options that would probably affect your gameplay. Second; I would not recommend this game if you're expecting a 1:1 to mystic messenger-like game where every day has a chat. 1, that would be impossible considering this is an indie game ; in terms of the current state of game development where compression is a rarity having day to day chat would make the game bloated,it has 2GB and the available days in early access where we can chat in each route is between 8-9 plus voice calls thus from a production standpoint it's uneconomical furthermore unlike mystic messenger where there is plot reason why the chat progression is shown daily, lovebyte.exe does not have that. The player is not under a time pressure to figure out the identity of Equinox. Rather the game does the opposite of that, the player is given entirely the decision whether to sniff around Equinox's IRL identity or not So to whom would I recommend this game? players with an open mind, those who like vtubers, or into chat dating sims. If you are playing this game as your first otome I recommend that you play the game with 0 expectations and simply let yourself experience it as it,don't play this game expecting it to be like another game because you would only disappoint yourself. If you like vtubers then play this game since the ups and downs of supporting a vtuber is reflective here, if you like chat dating sims then you'd like this considering the parodied discord UI. Ultimately the biggest draw of this game sans the romance route is the sense of community the player can experience when chatting in the Aqua Channel. The Aqua Channel is a server where people with common interests gather and talk about it, you can experience through the game the feeling of finding people who mesh well with you, there are moments of frictions of course but even that is expected in the course of socialization. I think what it can improve on however is the game reaction in terms of choices. I feel like if the PC has made several choices to avoid looking for Equinox among the members of Aquachannel it should remove the choice to ask if the romance options is equinox, however considering this game is still in early access this area of improvement is just a fleeting thought.
A fun game, nice art style, and lots of different interesting LI to choose from.
such a lovely game, can't wait to see what more they will add. i love the story in it and the characters.
Choose me, Minty!!!!!!!!!!!
i enjoy the idea. the typing challenge is my archnemsis since i cant spell, suck at hitting the correct keys when typing and absolutly suck at touch typing i need to stare at my keyboard baby
So far, I'm really enjoying the game. The gameplay does remind me of Mystic Messengers a bit but the story is missing that same sense of dread/concern that hangs over the MC. At the moment, it seems the game (the first 20 days for majority of the routes) is focused on getting into a relationship with one of the characters at lightspeed. On another note, the art is great. The characters are pretty distinct and have their own voices. The mini games do become tedious after a while and when doing multiple routes, somewhat annoying. I'd rather they were switched up or even different minigames were introduced at a later time. All the videos seem to have 3k views when you unlock them XD. I think that's just a design thing. Sometimes, the group chats can be a bit overwhelming. There are more and more groups your character is invited to, and I am kind of losing track of what they're about as they just remain dormant after 1-2 times. Since this is still a game in early access, that might be something that will be changed over time. So far, I think the game deserves a solid 7/10 (for me at least) as it is quite entertaining.
I absolutely love the game when I first discovered it! The art is phenomenally well done, the voice acting was also good too, and the characters have distinct personality which I loved. I've been obsessed with the song on the steam page too, have been listening to it nonstop lol Though there's still a few things that I hope get changed/updated as time goes on. 1.) The game starts to quickly feel boring after a couple of replays. The story is pretty linear, there's nothing wrong with that, but personally it makes replaying the game kind of boring? Would love to see more of a reaction from characters to our responses, or more consequences. 2.) Speaking of our protagonist, I wish we get to spend time getting to know why we really love Equinox. It would be interesting to see our protagonist's motivations! 3.) The time with the characters felt a little too rushed. At first, I didn't notice it really, but as I kept trying different routes (or playing for my friends), I noticed how uhhh rushed(?) It felt to fall in love or get so cozy with them. So having time before getting locked into a route would be nice! I'm pretty sure other commentors have expressed what could've be improved etc, and I've been agreeing with them on such matter. It's still pretty early for the game, so it got potential! Hopefully such issues get worked on, other than that—it's an unfinished gem.
this game cured my depression.
