So far so good, the map is large and varied. I really like the general premise for the game as well!
Chill tower-defense with mining & crafting components. Works well on linux with proton!
Pretty impressive step for an EA and first game for this scope. Some minor stuff but I'm here for it!

Good start on the. a lot of issues in the beginning not being explained. Rerunning it a few times helped. Might get better
Keeping in mind this game is in early access, a pleasant single player tower defence with a fun art style and a laid back survival crafting system with a lot of depth already. Gather resources, build your defences and base. and watch your hard work pay off when your towers defeat the waves of enemies, this game is quite polished and good for casual fun. There are some quality of life features I would like to see added to help repairing the base which can be a little tedious as you build more and more buildings. There are also numerous features that are still marked as WIP when you interact with them as well. I had to restart a few times before I got the hang of it, but once you get past the first few waves, the game becomes quite challenging and full of tasks to complete between waves. Looking forward to seeing updates from the developer as Lorne matures in Early Access. For the price, I think there is easily enough content in this game to keep you playing for hours, building a cool looking town alone is keeping me occupied and the map is quite large.
I’ve played around 110 minutes so far, and I’m already really enjoying Lorne. The game has a great mix of exploration, combat, crafting, and base building, and it feels like there’s a lot of potential for it to grow even further. The world is fun to explore, the gameplay feels satisfying, and the overall atmosphere is really enjoyable. For an Early Access game, I’m impressed with how much there is to do already. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what the developers add in future updates. If you enjoy survival games with action, exploration, and base building, I’d definitely recommend giving Lorne a try! Really promising game so far, excited to see where it goes. 👍
Tower defence games has historically not been my cup of tea, but I found this rather neat and relaxing and the game gives you a lot of space and time to find your footing in the beginning. Visuals/models are nice and animations are fluid. While the world of this game (on the surface) seems a bit deserted in the beginning there's obviously a lot of depth hiding already for those who persist to find it. Seeing as this is an Early Access title I would expect the world to be fleshed out as time progresses, and the obvious bugs that are there still I will expect to be ironed out. I will definitely get back to this game in the future to see how far I can get! (P.S. considering how large the map is already it would be nice if the sprint lasted a little bit longer... :) )
Quite a chill experience. Suits me nicely as a calm game to relax to in the evening. Still had some bugs which is expected this early on. Assuming bugs are fixed then I can recommend it.
Well.... I'm just going to say this doesn't feel ready at this stage of Early Access. I'm playing a week after release, roughly. 1. Voice-over volume is too low, even with all audio options set to max. 2. No quick options for graphic settings like Medium, High, Ultra etc. You have to select everything individually. While not a huge deal it just feels like a QoL feature I've come to expect for games released in the last 5 years. 3. The map is WIP, and feels like a crucial part of the game that should be available now. 4. The world feels more like things have been placed at random locations in an effort to disguise the emptiness of it. Yeah, it is early access but from the perspective of wondering what the world might contain it feels more like a tech demo. 5. Combat is a little clunky, but at least it has a foundation that makes me think it might be alright. Though the sound effects for enemies seems like a placeholder that doesn't fit at all. 6. I interacted with a sign, the map popped up quickly, I lost all ability to interact with the game. I had to Alt+F4 to close it. The Kickstarter finished on June 22, 2024. Rewards were expected around January of 2026. I am glad to see they weren't terribly far away from that date... But I certainly expected more than what I got. Lorne serves as a gentle reminder as to why I've tried to avoid Early Access titles. I don't look at an Early Access title and imagine what it might be like in the future. I jump in if I think it's going to be fun now, with even more eagerness if there will be consistent updates bringing new content. Unfortunately that first bit of hands-on with an Early Access title can sour any expectations of jumping into it again. I certainly hope the game can become what the developers are trying to build. But after 2 years of waiting for it, with interest fading over time, the game at the date of this review simply feels like a Tech Demo and I don't expect I'll be back.
Great game so far for an early access! Fun with different arrowtypes for versatility.
