Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 31 → 4.14/day in the week after.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 13.83/day in the week to Jul 18 → 1.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Art is a 9, characters and writing are a 5. I don't like any of the characters or find myself laughing/smiling at the writing. The puzzles are ok, but I'm also leaning on the hint system to just get me through the game. I can only recommend it to people really desperate for a LucasArts-style point and click.
Graphics are really nice and it's only them that manage to hold up a story, characters, puzzles, etc. which are merely enjoyable at best and outright dull at worst. There's nothing brilliant in it, nothing surprising or compelling. It's not funny (and luckily doesn't try very hard to be) and sometimes it's a chore to get through dialogues with no spark, no spice. It's a shame because the story is cool, although the 1920-30s atmosphere is somewhat broken with the impossibly diverse cast and needless gender-neutral pronouns (even the Orson Welles character is a "they"...). Puzzles are ok, sometimes good, sometimes a bit inconsistent in terms of clues; they err on the easy side for the most part (unless you're totally inexperienced). In short, I enjoyed at times, but many times gameplay was as mechanical as the writing and puzzle design. I won't play it again.

A very nice point n click about a band of anti-heroes who try to solve the murder they are accused of and lots of dark humor that is elevated by great graphics and amazing voice acting. The story feels grounded. The conspiracies are twisted enough, to keep the story interesting for most of the game and the characters are mostly silly and entertaining. While the writing and humor work on their own, they are greatly elevated by the designs and voice actors. I kept being disappoined by some jokes, but in hindsight this was because I was hoping for the unhinged absurdism of the likes of Sam & Max, but Loco Motive is, despite its name, simply more grounded. The puzzles mostly felt fair and logical to me, yet there were instances where I needed the ingame-support-hotline and thought "I would have never deducted this" after hearing the solution. Still, my greatest criticism of the puzzles is the tendency to backtrack and this is somewhat eliviated by the relatively small world size.
This game is NOT a nostalgic trip to old times. The Devs doesn't respect the player and their intelligence in the slightest! I stumbled through a solution for a puzzle without knowing it! How you ask? That's how: I talked to the artist, checked every option and stumbled upon the commission choice. I then proceeded to check everything, including the curtain at the casino, failed the handshake because i didn't know, it was important to get into, I then proceeded to exchange my casino chips for money, again without knowing for what i might need it. I then talked to the Doctor, again, going through all the options until the Secret Society came up. I got very suspicious and went straight to the Artist and gave him the money. And it worked. I got the frickn solution without even trying or thinking about the problem, because i didn't think, it was a problem! Then, when it came to the actual handshake, NOT A SINGLE WRONG CHOICE WAS AVAILABLE! You simply picked the fitting rhyme and its over, no chance to fail this at all. That is pretty much the gist of the gameplay in this game, the Devs think, that the player is an idiot. But that is not all. This game reeks of modern 2022 political correctness, that brings the usual racism and sexism seen in other modern games. The background characters are either the white rich folks or black women. Black men are reduced to the waiter figure and one Bouncer, there is no other black man representation. Of course also does the game have an woman being the engineering genius, who created a Steam Turbine engine for the very Train, while her 2 white Sons are bickering buffoons about bridges and tunnels. The more you play, the more stereotypes and other stuff comes to shine like Girlbosses in the Industry. You are already getting greeted by Butch looking FEMALE Investigator. I don't mind a female Investigator, i do mind if the female Investigator looks like a man! Especially if the rest of the women in the game look like women! The Ending for the game is quite literal visible from the START! Yes, the Start already tells you, who will be the Heir to Lady Unterwald's Railway Empire. Its even visible here on the Steam Store page because it belongs to the start. Its bad. Before you write off my gameplay time, it was at this point, i realized, how little the Devs thinks of the player. So i looked up and no surprises on the ending. Its all weak sauce. Don't buy it, the only good thing is the art and pixel art, everything else is shallow.
Game is decent but is full of woke BS and propaganda.
和悬疑、推理、谋杀案都没什么关系的喜剧剧情游戏,玩法只有找东西再交付。 主角们解决问题的方式大都是“俺寻思能行”这般毫无逻辑,对奔着推理标签买的人简直是酷刑。
I was pleasantly surprised through the entire thing. Even though Ron Gilbert is still very much alive, I'm glad to see the spirit he had while making Monkey Island is present in the Riches Brothers. Thank you for keeping the goofy point and click adventure genre alive and well!
Yes, with an if. No, with a but. I suppose I'd recommend it IF this type of adventure is your cup of tea. The humor didn't really hit and the game was in general a bit boring. But it was well made and I can see others liking it, I just found it a bit meh.
This game was a 10/10, the characters really made it and the gameplay was good fun, especially solving the mystery. If you like murder mystery and click and point games you will enjoy this. I had so much fun playing it!
