Cute little cozy game! Super chill and satisfying, especially if you like organizing and cleaning.
Since 2024, AI company Anthropic (owner of Claude) has spent tens of millions of dollars buying books en masse for destructive scanning, which they call 'Project Panama'. The world is flooded with so much AI slop that they cant use any modern books, so they consider pre-2022 and antique books a premium. They slice off the spines of each book, feed each page through a scanner to be fed to AI then dispose of these books through a shredder. Books which are the last of it's kind, survived wars, fires and centuries of wear: now lost to corporate greed. Found out after purchasing that this game uses generative AI. I swear that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 'stupid fairy' wanted poster is AI generated (shown in the trailer), like it clearly doesn't use a consistent font as the letters look different from line to line, especially the 'W' in 'REWARD' which has 2 criss-crossed lines in the middle. And yes, I know some people write W like that (e.g. the Wikipedia logo), but if that's how the artist writes 'W's, then why isn't it present in the big 'WANTED' at the top? Also the bottom line just has random capitalised letters, and even the letters in the logo like 'L' and 'B' look off. Using AI just for 'refinement' and spelling mistakes was an obvious lie. You cannot love books and buy this game in good faith. (also I am 90% sure this game partnered with Jestr for advertisement, as that is how I found out about the game in the first place, an undisclosed advertisement from a creator featured in this video: Exposing a Massive "Cozy Game" Scam where many creators promoted games without disclosing that it was a paid advertisement. Giving the benefit of the doubt, its possible the devs didn't know about Jestr's shady business practices, but if I knew that it was a paid advertisement and not a genuine review, then I probably wouldn't have bought the game.)
Disappointed to realize the game uses AI.
The game is fantastic, perfect for long relaxing play sessions, and to unwind from stress. I love putting on a long podcast and tuning out the world for a bit. The titles are hilarious and some I wish were actual ones. This game fulfills my love of books, and organizing. That being said... My ONLY gripe is about the use of A.I. There is absolutely no reason you couldn't have gone over the writing and book titles, there are god-knows how many proof-writers out there that would be willing to go over things. And that same comment goes to the artwork. Because of how harmful AI is, we shouldn't be giving into its use when people have been doing these things on their own for many many years. Is that slower than a machine? Yes, but we shouldn't replace people and their jobs with machines, especially when it's completely unnecessary. I do hope the developer will move away from its use. And that is the reason I'm giving a negative review. I genuinely hope to see more by these developers as the potential is 100% there. I hope to see either more levels or another game in the same style, though hopefully without the use of AI...
I only just found out today that ai was used in the development of this game, which is something I'm not ok with. I think if you need to use ai in your game development, you shouldn't be making a game at all.
dont play if you dont support ai
Did not disclose use of generative AI in development. 2 hour refund limit had well passed until I was made aware of it.
Good concept. Unfortunately, generative AI is gross.
Didn't see the AI disclosure when I bought it. Would not have bought it, wish I had noticed while I could still refund it.
