A fun horror snack!
Developed by sodaraptor and published by Raptorsoft Games, Late Homework is a retro-inspired survival horror game that turns an ordinary academic problem into a chilling supernatural ordeal. The story follows Haneko, a high school student who realizes she accidentally left her homework at school. Determined to avoid arriving empty-handed the next morning, she returns to the building after dark, expecting nothing more than a quick trip to her classroom. Instead, she finds herself trapped inside a school that has transformed into a nightmare, where an unnatural presence stalks every corridor and survival becomes more important than recovering a simple assignment. The premise is uncomplicated, but it establishes a strong foundation for suspense by taking a familiar setting and twisting it into something deeply unsettling. The game's strongest quality is its commitment to the classic survival horror formula. Inspired by the genre's defining titles from the original PlayStation era, it features fixed camera angles, tank-style controls, and deliberately low-polygon visuals that successfully recreate the atmosphere of late 1990s horror gaming. These mechanics are more than nostalgic callbacks, as they actively contribute to the tension. Restricted viewpoints make it difficult to anticipate danger around corners, while deliberate movement forces players to think carefully before entering unfamiliar areas. Rather than overwhelming players with action, the game emphasizes vulnerability, making each encounter feel dangerous and every quiet hallway feel unpredictable. Exploration serves as the heart of the experience. Players search classrooms, hallways, and other sections of the school for the missing homework while avoiding the mysterious entity that roams the building. The objectives remain focused, allowing the horror to unfold naturally without becoming buried beneath unnecessary complexity. The school itself becomes a character through its eerie silence, dim lighting, and unsettling layout, encouraging players to pay attention to their surroundings while steadily building an atmosphere of isolation. The pacing remains consistent throughout the adventure, ensuring that moments of quiet exploration are regularly interrupted by bursts of genuine tension. Although Late Homework is a relatively short experience, it includes several features designed to increase replay value. Multiple difficulty options allow players to tailor the challenge to their preferences, while randomized objectives ensure that repeat playthroughs do not unfold exactly the same way. Hidden unlockables provide additional motivation for players who enjoy discovering every secret the game has to offer. These additions help the game feel more substantial than its runtime alone might suggest, rewarding curiosity and encouraging players to revisit the haunted school after completing the main story. The audiovisual presentation reinforces the game's horror exceptionally well. Its intentionally retro graphics rely on clever lighting, heavy shadows, and minimalist environmental design instead of graphical realism. This approach leaves room for the imagination, often making the unknown more frightening than anything shown directly on screen. Sound design is equally effective, using silence, distant noises, and unsettling ambient effects to create constant unease. The mature content, including pixelated blood, gore, and references to suicide, complements the darker themes without becoming excessive, fitting naturally within the game's old-school horror identity. Late Homework succeeds because it remains focused on delivering a concise and memorable survival horror experience rather than trying to expand beyond its strengths. It captures the spirit of classic horror games while incorporating modern conveniences and replay-friendly features that help it stand on its own. Players looking for a lengthy narrative or complex gameplay systems may find its scope limited, but those who appreciate atmospheric horror, nostalgic design, and carefully crafted tension will likely find plenty to enjoy. By transforming a simple trip back to school into an engaging supernatural survival story, the game delivers exactly the kind of focused horror adventure it promises. Rating: 9/10

Immaculate vibes. There was only one room where the tank controls were slightly cumbersome. I only got caught once, and that was just to see what would happen. The game is short enough to play comfortably in one sitting. To anyone with complaints about those three things: skill issue.

If you ever wanted to know what it would be like if your animal crossing character downed a bunch of pills then this is the game for you. It’s a charming little game heavily inspired by Silent Hill down to the tank controls (it’s not that bad). Its on the short side but definitely worth the price.
pouca chance pra erro e mediocre em tudo que não sejam os graficos
