Lake of Darkness

Went in expecting a 2 hours MAX game, got out with one of the better visual novel experiences. The amount of content this game has makes the fact that it's completely free kind of strange. Trying to get all the endings and even deaths without looking things up was highly enjoyable whilst getting all the achievements. The only errors this game has are some misspelled dialogue and the "awake" achievement STILL not working even on the latest update. i hope that gets fixed soon because having all the achievements except one is kind of annoying. But despite that it's a solid visual novel and i would definitely recommend giving it a shot.

Сюжет разворачивается вокруг зловещего озера и загадочных событий, происходящих в его окрестностях. Игроку предстоит исследовать локации, решать головоломки и взаимодействовать с не менее загадочными персонажами, чтобы раскрыть правду. Что мне понравилось: атмосфера передана просто великолепно! Описания жуткие и детализированные, заставляющие почувствовать леденящий холод и тревогу. Головоломки достаточно сложные, но логичные, а процесс их решения доставляет истинное удовольствие. Особенно понравилась нелинейность сюжета и возможность влиять на концовку своими решениями. Что можно было бы улучшить: местами встречаются грамматические ошибки, немного портящие впечатление. Также хотелось бы больше вариантов взаимодействия с персонажами. В целом, это отличная игра для любителей классических текстовых адвенчур и хоррор-тематики. Рекомендую!

The abundant typos are the only thing that make this feel like a free game. Otherwise, it's very in-depth, with clearly a lot of time and effort put in. The story is good, with a nice psychological horror feel all throughout and a ton of different endings based on different choices. Getting all the endings takes some time. There are also weird dreams you can randomly get during the nights. Overall excellent, this is one hell of a free game.

Cool scary game! With emotions and scary stuff. The characters are well written. Descriptions can get a bit wordy at times, but you can skim through it, and then actually read it when something interesting/different happens. You can also use the scroll wheel or page up/down to go backwards. At one point, I needed a guide. But yeah cool game!
