Kingdom Tales 2: Viking Saga

[h1]Summary[/h1] A basic yet fun challenging strategy time management game with improvements from it's predecessor. [b]Pros[/b] + Simple fun [b]Cons[/b] - Blocked objectives prevent planning [h1]Overview[/h1] Kingdom Tales 2 is literally more of the same of it's predecessor with some improvements, there are new mechanics and a tiny increase in difficulty. It is still simple casual fun and worth spending some time on if timed strategy management games are your thing. [b]Graphics[/b] They ditched having realistic cutscenes and went with a hand drawn storybook style, along with changing to a more cartoony / children's storybook look for the overall aesthetic of the game. It also changed to a Viking setting for it's style and story aspects in this game. The UI has been significantly improved looking much better and easier to find what you need to keep track of. [b]Story[/b] Similar to the previous game the story is completely inconsequential, not only is it unimportant but it doesn't add much reasoning to some of the objectives it presents in a few levels like the previous game does. [b]Gameplay[/b] Gameplay is more of the same of the previous game but with a slight increase to difficulty. Each level requires you to assess the level layout and decide the placement of buildings, better placement will help you achieve objectives easier and faster. Playing on Extreme mode you will need to be quicker and plan out placements of buildings more carefully. One thing that kind of annoyed me is that there are some objectives that require you to repair / build special buildings but they can be blocked by obstacles, before clearing these obstacles you aren't able to check what you need to prepare for those special buildings. There are also new buildings and items that are only used for specific obstacles and objectives, these add a little more challenge as you need to plan and prepare having these buildings and supplying them. It doesn't matter much which game you start with, either Kingdom Tales or Kingdom Tales 2 they both are the same thing just a different setting. The first game just has dated graphics compared to this one.
