『It's payback time!』
4代也还行
开始界面KR6图片刷新出来前进游戏会闪退
The gameplay is exactly the same as the previous games but the addition of multiple towers & the ability to choose towers before each level makes this game even more fun. And of course the Easter eggs. The only bad thing for me is the prise even on discount its over prise 9/10 i love this series.
不看你那死妈广告就给我闪退是吧。
YOU SHALL NOT PASS Mark: 9/10
游戏是好游戏,但是存在严重的闪退bug 启动游戏之后必须等待那个傻卵一样的6代广告加载完,不然开始游戏会直接闪退
TLDR: The best Kingdom Rush yet. Customizable tower loadouts and a modernized UI breathe fresh life into the formula, even if balance issues and a lack of endgame content still hold it back.

PROS:
➕New upgrade tree/format ➕New towers that you can pick and equip ➕New UI look and feel ➕Actual settings within the game now ➕Playing as the bad guys is a nice switch
CONS:
➖Balance issues - Overpowered/underpowered heroes and towers often create a defined meta ➖Lacks longevity/endgame - no endless levels or leaderboards My reviews for past Kingdom Rush games here: KR1: Kingdom Rush (KR1) KR2: Kingdom Rush Frontiers (KRF) KR3: Kingdom Rush Origins (KRO) This is the 4th game of the series. They don’t have a cohesive story, so you can skip around, you just might miss out on some fan service references.
Content (Game world/Narrative) – [6/10]
The game world is very similar to other KR entries, just new level setups/biomes. There also seems to be some small-hidden puzzles and/or achievements on most levels. These often contain funny memes like Kermit drinking tea. The narrative has taken an abrupt switch with the player now playing as the bad guys. The story is still presented sporadically at set intervals, so it’s not a major overhaul other than mostly being a palette swap to the bad guys. A nice change, but overall, kind of meaningless.
Gameplay (Mechanics/Difficulty) – [8/10]
The mechanics have undergone a massive revamp, and contain both good and bad changes. The biggest change is the amount of towers available as well as the ability to choose your “Tower build”. There’s something like ~20 different towers (some locked behind paid DLC) and you can choose up to 5 to bring into a level, up from the standard 4 non-choosable towers of the previous KR games. There’s a similar amount of heroes, and they function similarly to KRO - levels carry over between runs, and you pick abilities to level up. The issue here between allowing more options (mostly through towers) is that some of the towers are terrible and others are amazing. This leads to an issue in meta. And while the heroes are the same setup to KRO, they didn’t escape the lack of balance. The beginning heroes are terrible and make stages harder than they should be, whereas the later heroes (looking at you, Eiskalt) are super strong and single-handedly make those same stages a cakewalk. There is a new talent tree that replaces the star system of the previous titles. In the end, it’s mostly the same, a couple choices to make. The difficulty seems to be more forgiving than past entries, but holds a similar spike for post-campaign levels where the final campaign level is easy, even on the hard difficulty, and the next level after that is very hard, on the same difficulty.
Graphics (Quality/Technical) – [8/10]
Graphics here are only slightly better than KRO, but that slightly is enough to make it the best in the series, there’s a noticeable increase in fidelity, almost like something from a PS3 to PS4-era. Much more than the graphics is the UI, a complete overhaul. It looks and feels much more modernized and is a big factor in revitalizing the game. On the technical side, there’s not a huge amount of options like most PC games would have, but there is still a solid increase from past versions that only had a volume slider. I didn’t notice any bugs. 1440p @ 240hz | installed on SSD
Audio – [5/10]
The audio is mostly the same as prior entries. Nothing noteworthy here, typical same tracks in the levels and level select and heroes voiced on movement. I want to emphasize how repetitive it can get. Some of the heroes have annoying voice lines and they spam the same few lines over and over each time you move them. I wish there was an option to turn this off and I found myself decreasing the volume due to annoyance.
Replay Factor (Longevity) – [5/10]
The replay value is as good as past KR games, but it still lacks the unique endless levels in KRF. Without buying DLC, there’s over 20 levels content, and each level can be run 3x for the campaign run, heroic run, and iron mode run. Other than that, there’s not much else aside from achievement hunting.
Final Verdict – [8/10]
Kingdom Rush Vengence (KRV) is the 4th installment in the Kingdom Rush franchise. This version shakes up the traditional foundation that the previous three installments have kept by adding tons of new towers that allow you to choose a loadout before a level. This is by far the largest change to the series so far, and while I do think it’s a net positive change, it does come with some downsides, namely metagaming. By offering so many options now with towers, I feel as though the balance suffers a bit with there generally being clear useful towers and others that are terrible and will never be used outside of mandatory Iron mode runs. Still, having the ability to choose which towers you want instead of being confined to the same 4 is a major change that I love. Another change, though not as impactful, is the look and feel of the game. The graphics seem better, the UI is completely different, and there are much more technical options available. It still has a feel of a mobile game, but this is the first entry where I can say it appears as though effort has gone into the PC version. Overall, I would say this is my favorite version of KR so far. It’s not perfect, and it can definitely use some sort of endgame or longevity factor, but I adore the changes made since Origins. If I had to rank all the KR games so far: Vengeance Frontiers KR1 Origins
Recommend? (Price) [Y/N]

Yes
$20 is a bit much for this game. The historical low sale price of $8 is very worth it though. You can find my curator page here: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/Synik_GR
Easily the worst game in the franchise. Nothing about this game really works. The towers are either ridiculously good and pretty much make the game a cakewalk, or they're utterly useless and there is no reason why you should use them outside of 100% the game. Exactly like the towers, the heroes are either busted and can carry entire levels by themselves, or worthless and can actively hinder you. Level design is bad as a majority of this game has a massive choke point that you can stall and bottle neck and win with ease. Even on impossible I only lost 2 heart on my playthrough (mainly due to me not paying any attention). The post game levels are annoying as they have some sort of gimmick that gets old after the first level, and they are as easy as the main campaign of the game. Every enemy in this game is slow which makes it easier to kill them, maybe 7 out of the 74 enemies are even remotely fast causing every enemy to feel the same. The upgrade paths are unsatisfying, useless or even hinders your gameplay like the Gullions. The bosses are all boring as they are pretty much a copy of each other. Once you've beaten the first dwarf boss you've pretty much encountered every boss in the game. Only two bosses are unique but they are also easy to kill as well. There is some good points that KRV did right. Introducing support towers into the game was a welcome change. Experimenting with unique ideas with towers like having them be hybrids of other towers was cool. The DLC is good and fixes a lot of the game's issues like adding challenge back to the levels. The pirate kings DLC is some of the best that the franchise has too offer. And the DLC towers and heroes are fun to use. KRV is not the worst game I've ever played as there are some great moments sprinkled in, but it is however the worst game in the Kingdom Rush franchise. If you're a mega fan of this franchise, wait until it's on sale. But if you're a newcomer to the franchise, I would recommend skipping this game and just playing any other game in the franchise instead. 4/10
