Usually I can come to appreciate poor effort simulators but this is pure AI slop that genuinely rots your brain. Although the dev seems to be open about disclosing how AI is used it still seems to be overpowering and empty feeling, it doesn't have that authentic clunkiness, the so bad it's good quality. It just feels soulless. The story that I played had no plot and was jumping around everywhere both plotwise but AI art-style wise.. cmon guys it's not that hard to ask all prompts to be in the same style... It also seems that since this game got a full release (that I obviously won't purchase, and don't recommend you doing either) it is over priced, poorly managed and is botted for positive reviews. The only positive reviews come from blank accounts with this game being their only and the developer immaturely replies to genuine reviews like a child. Clearly this vision of prioritising consumers thoughts is thrown out the window and the game is instead a cheap money grab. The idea itself could be fun and ironic, and the idea of the absurdity is genuinely something I love to see, but this clearly isn't it.

Kebabstar: Prologue🌯 is one of the strangest cooking games I have played, and I honestly think the ridiculous premise is a big part of its charm. I play as Boran, a kebab seller whose ordinary life quickly turns into a much stranger adventure involving parties, secret organizations and a mysterious cult. I liked how the game constantly feels like it is trying to surprise me with something even more ridiculous. The cooking is easily the main gameplay feature in the prologue. I have to physically handle the ingredients, cut things, prepare the meat and assemble the kebabs instead of simply selecting recipes from a menu. I enjoyed the hands on approach because it makes the cooking feel much more involved than I expected. There is something satisfying about getting into a rhythm and putting an order together properly. I also liked how the cooking is connected to the story. I am not simply running a restaurant in isolation, since the game uses the kebab stand as the starting point for a much larger and deliberately absurd adventure. The different locations give the prologue a sense of variety, and moving between Arabia, Dubai and the Grand Bazaar makes the experience feel more like a strange journey than a normal cooking simulator. The presentation is probably the biggest surprise for me. The game uses Unreal Engine 5 and tries to make the environments and cooking interactions look quite realistic, while the writing and situations are intentionally ridiculous. That contrast works surprisingly well. One moment I am carefully preparing food and the next I am dealing with some completely bizarre character or situation. I liked that the game never seems particularly interested in being normal. The biggest weakness is that this is very clearly a prologue. The available content only gives me a small part of the overall story, and some of the systems feel like they are being introduced rather than fully developed. The lack of combat in the prologue is also worth mentioning because the full game is supposed to include much more action. That means I am really judging the cooking and early story setup rather than the complete Kebabstar experience. The physics based cooking can also be a little rough at times. The realistic hand interactions are ambitious, but that also means small movements can occasionally feel awkward. I think the game would benefit from smoother interaction and more consistent feedback, especially because so much of the experience depends on physically handling food and kitchen equipment. Overall, Kebabstar: Prologue🌯 is a bizarre but surprisingly entertaining cooking adventure that I had a lot of fun with. I liked the hands on cooking, ridiculous story and over the top presentation, even when the rougher mechanics occasionally got in the way. It is short and clearly only a taste of the larger game, but as a free prologue it does a good job of making me curious about what comes next. Rating: 7/10
