Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.29/day in the week to Aug 10 → 1/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

少し動作が不安定ですが、こちらの旧版の方がポイント&クリックとして美しい均衡が取れていて好きです。 DC版は入れたいものを何でもかんでも詰め込んだADVになってしまっているので。
This recommendation is not really a recommendation -- try it if it intrigues you, but here's what I'll warn you about for potential turn-offs. Some puzzles were frustrating; to avoid spoilers, I'll say that one of the puzzles towards the end has things "at a different angle" than expected for the layout provided. That same puzzle was also what I called "An artsy attempt at a riddle that didn't quite work out. Another puzzle or two were mildly irritating, but if you follow the rule of "Click EVERYTHING" you may not have the issues. Eileen is a questionable character: she invades Kathy's privacy constantly, and she even goes as far as to go to Kathy's grandma's house simply because she didn't come "home" one night (they're college roommates). Eileen is also connected with questionable people, and she's very eager to lie when the opportunity arises. Lastly, the story. It's got a good premise, but there were several things lacking (at least in the English version). Again I do not want to post spoilers, but I will say that this game starts with the premise of being a mystery about your grandpa's death and devolves into a Cthulhu-lite plotline. It was a bit misleading. It also didn't help that the plot was vague about the paranormal aspect until the very end; for the bulk of the game, it seems to be drug-fueled hallucinations and then it suddenly switches to "It's real." P.S. The ending does not make the clearest sense -- how things turned out the way they did with the final action taken just don't add up by any other means than "forced paranormal interference."

10 OUT OF 10
un grand plaisir, des personnages haut en couleur et une véritable atmosphère.
Nice, ending a bit weird although I like the genre, it could have been executed better
I'm a huge fan of point-and-click adventure games, since the 80's and Maniac Mansion. The state of gaming industry today being as it is I decided to play old games from my backlog from now on, and not buy new ones. I just completed The Dig by Lucasarts and wanted more of the same genre. I have no recollection of how this game got to my Steam library and when, but I decided to install it and try. I was in for a thrill! Kathy Rain is like Gabriel Knight in so many ways. Interesting protagonist, gorgeous pixel art and a mystery that flirts with the supernatural but doesn't swim in it. Puzzles were good, as I was stuck in a few places but never felt the need to consult a walkthrough. The game was of good length as well, 5-6 hours is perfect for this kind of experience. I was very pleasantly surprised by Kathy Rain and the sequel got to my wishlist. If I ever buy another game, that is... We'll see. Oh and I had some crashes while saving, which was not great, as sometimes even autosave triggered this. The Director's Cut *might* fix these, but I have no interest in checking that out, as the regular version was just fine.
