It's a really cool time for those who grew up with and have a fondness for the Game Boy/GBC generation of gaming. Isle of Reveries has an interesting story, fantastic visuals that really match the specific retro style that was aimed for, and some fun gameplay that feels nostalgic and like a game from the Game Boy library that you maybe just hadn't seen before. It's fun and charming with plenty of challenge in both the combat and the puzzles you'll find along your journey. The dungeons are creative and engaging, the overworld map is neatly sectioned off into multiple, distinct zones, and the game overall has a lot of heart. There's tons of exploring to do if you're a bit of a completionist like myself, but there's still plenty of content and things to do and sights to see if you just want to run from beginning to end. I don't have much to say against the game... The maps are large, both in-dungeon and out of it. It does mean lots to see, but also a good deal of backtracking from time to time.
I see through recent updates that there might be a few things to help make traversing the overworld map a bit less cumbersome.
The map itself could use a bit more love, maybe a legend or the ability to navigate the map screen and get some room titles/places of interest. Sometimes the copying and spawning (specifically the spawning) can be a bit finnicky, presumably to prevent some glitchy, cheesy strategies; It can certainly be difficult at times when the spawning isn't snapping to the grid to spawn something where you would like to.
There are also certain light-based puzzle rooms you are introduced to early on where copy/spawning feels like it almost works, but does not.
Still overall a very pleasant game I enjoyed thoroughly and look forward to finding the last couple things I'm missing to get that 100%...

Loved it!
Wonderful Zelda-like, that knows that you can improve any game by having the player control a cute little owl.
I beat the game today and I just can tell that is the best Zelda like I've ever played. Totally recommended. What I enjoyed the most was the dungeon's puzzles and the feeling of being lost. However, the experience wasn't all the incredible that i'd like because of bugs. There are plenty and in everywhere. Bugs in the rafts, I've the mine carts, with the duplication of items, with the items... You can get infinite duplications, skip most of the puzzles because of the bugs (passing throw the wall) if you use them in your favour. Also, there are another bugs that can get you stocked forever. But, even with all those bugs I've finished the game without taking advantage of them and was an enjoyable experience. It's a totally YES for me. I hope they fix all these bugs in the future. Thanks for such a beautiful game.
What an awesome game! It took me 22 hours to finish, and I had a great time all the way. The world is a huge, deep maze, with every screen packing in secrets and paths to get around. I loved the premise and the cast of characters, and all the unique tools and trinkets. The star of the show is the massive, super difficult dungeons. The puzzles seriously had me scratching my head every few minutes. There's some very tough ones if you ask me, but everything is fair. I'll admit that every time I got stuck, it was because I forgot about a tool, and realizing what I had in my hand already made me smack my forehead. I appreciate that combat is a little easier than in some similar games, and the real challenge is in the puzzles. Great style, and in fact I consider this best-in-class for anyone looking for a LA/OoA/OoS spiritual successor. This is a new classic.
sadly on my system there are major graphical glitches that make the game unplayable. my laptop is not a powerhouse but it should definetly be able to run this. i still think this game will be amazing edit: apparently its related to the intel drivers (updated now to latest version but sadly still issues)
banger game
This game is amazing. It's basically exactly what I've wanted out of this genre in the indie space. If you're looking for a classic GBC-style Zelda game, you owe yourself picking this up!
Una oda a la era GBC de Zelda. Gran diseño de mapa, música, ítems y mazmorras. Los devs están presentes solucionando bugs y glitches con parches continuamente.
