About

While Shelly "Bombshell" Harrison earned her codename defusing bombs for the Global Defense Force, when evil transhumanist mastermind Dr. Jadus Heskel unleashes the members of his cybernetic cult onto the streets of Neo D.C., she knows it's time to start causing explosions instead of preventing them.
Her quest to slay Heskel leaves a trail of carnage throughout huge, multi-path levels filled with gigantic explosions, more secret areas than we can count, and inhuman foes behind every corner. There's no regenerating health here; stop taking cover and start running and gunning.
Shelly's crusade to take down Heskel's army will see her leave destruction in her wake with a wide arsenal of weapons, complete with alternate fire modes and different ammo types. Her signature revolver, the tri-barreled Loverboy, brings enemies pain and players pleasure with both single shots and Old West-style hammer fanning action. Who needs a regular shotgun when you can load buckshot into your grenade launcher? Violent, over-the-top Bowling Bombs rip enemies apart with ease.
Ion Fury laughs at the idea of mandatory checkpoints and straight paths through shooting galleries. But, just because this is a true old-school first-person shooter doesn't mean we've ignored all the good new stuff the last two decades have brought. Headshots? Hell yeah. More physics and interactivity? You betcha. Widescreen, controller support, and auto saves? 3D Realms and Voidpoint have taken the best of both worlds and cooked it all into a bloody stew.

Great game.
The game starts exceptionally strong, with a pretty quick buildup of the good arsenal the game has combined with outstanding cyberpunk urban level designs. The first half of the game is great, filled with in game world building and challenging, classic build engine style combat. All the weapons are fun to use and remain useful throughout the game, including your melee weapon which is great for the annoying spider skull enemies that harass you for pretty much the whole time. To me, that's a sign that the developer really took their time in designing the shooting. The visuals are also super impressive, as is the music. But it should be said the back half of the game loses the fantastic level theming in favor of blander industrial settings. The levels still have good, intricate design that's fun to secret hunt through, and the combat remains blisteringly enjoyable, but the levels later on are nowhere near as interesting as the early ones, with one or two exceptions. It's overall a solid game, though. There's a decently sized campaign with plenty of huge levels to get lost in and the Build Engine aesthetic is really superb. I don't think it quite surpasses the likes of Blood but it's still really good.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

One of the pioneers of the Retro FPS revival and it still effortlessly impresses several years after its release. Levels are massive, interactive, connected, and thoroughly lived in and interactable. It's not a fair fight, but this is handily the best Build Engine shooter, and that's coming from a big Blood fan. Not for nothing, the DLC, Aftershock, is phenominal. They easily dance on the graves of levels designers across most other genres, and even others in the Retro FPS genre. An Iconic game that thoroughly earned (and retained) it's title on the Mr. Rushmore of the Retro Revival.
Заебэ шутец.
Remember when games were fun? Ion Fury remembers.
My experiences are based on the Ultra Visceral difficulty. At first, the game was hard, but that was because I was playing this like a modern shooter. I had to re-think this as a 1990s shooter, where you constantly move, cover is non-existent, you must SAVE constantly, and emptying mags is the name of the game. Once you realize that, the game becomes a lot more manageable. Ammo is a little too scarce for my liking, and I think the shotgun looks like a grenade launcher (which it is, but still). Secret finding is my favorite thing to do, and some are quite clever. The boss fights are very hard, so expect to re-load a bunch. Level design is a masterpiece. Enemy variety is a little lacking, same with cool guns. More times than not, the bowling bombs went askew and the crossbow seemed very weak at first, until I discovered it was meant to be used with only its alt-fire, which shreds. Power ups are cool, but poorly defined. I never used the radars and thought they were worthless. The music absolutely slaps! Some of the best game music I've heard. Shelly's character is awesome and she's a lot of fun to play! While it's not a legendary 10/10 game like Duke 3D, it is a good 9.99/10 game.
Part of a recent return to old Doom and Wolfenstein like shooters, this game delivers the same high energy fps goodness of those old games. Secrets, guns and cyborgs galore. Story is pretty bad, but thats not what we are here for. $25 is a bit much, but give it a go if its on sale.
Very smooth and refined Build game; in terms of quality it's up there with the best, like Blood or Classic Shadow Warrior - go ahead and buy it. It's a blast.
Good Duke Nukem 3D throw back.
It's Duke3d for an era where Duke's humor would get you cancelled. Shelly's half as cool a character, and the badass one-liners are much less impressive, but the BUILD engine maps are shockingly good and leave you asking "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, can BUILD even do that?!" Overall I cannot recommend buying it for nostalgia and for gameplay. Not everything has to be ultra-realistic or tactical, sometimes you just want to play the equivalent of an 80s action movie.
