About
InFlux Redux is a high-def remake of the 2013 ball-rolling puzzler InFlux, built on a brand new engine with completely overhauled graphics, physics and game code.
InFlux is a puzzle game that mixes exploration and platforming in a series of beautiful natural and abstract environments. You are a mysterious metal sphere which falls from the sky, traversing an apparently deserted island dotted with cubic structures of glass and steel. Each glasshouse is a puzzle to be solved. Redux is the same game, except better in every way, having been rewritten from scratch in Unreal Engine 5.
Roll your way through a series of beautiful and varied naturalistic environments
Solve a sequence of mind-bending cubic puzzle structures
Forge an alliance with a majestic and enigmatic humpback whale
Enjoy an extensive original soundtrack by composer Jonathan Yandel
We took so long to make this that it is technically a remaster of a remaster of a remaster

Reviews
A side-by-side video comparison with the original game "InFlux" is provided below. InFlux Redux (2024) is an excellent remaster of the original game from 2013. This remaster is significantly more polished, artistic, and atmospheric. The puzzles are less finicky this time around too. Even the physics have been greatly improved. I could get close to 120FPS at 1080p resolution in most areas with my NVIDIA RTX 3080 video card and 10th generation Intel Core i9 processor. Some vast areas brought the frame rate down to 40FPS temporarily but it was not an ongoing issue. Lots of graphics configuration settings are available within the program, which is appreciated. The game also ran fine on my Steam Deck at 30-60FPS using much lower settings than my gaming PC. Here's the side by side video with additional review of the InFlux Redux afterwards: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3375324648 The art in this game is beautiful, lots of opportunities for screenshots: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3368768022 Thank you to the developer for providing me with a review copy of "InFlux Redux". The original "InFlux" was purchased myself in the past.
Fun play and puzzle great. Now better remake graph & achievement.

Not sure how I'm the first one to write a negative review for this game, but here ya go. This game runs like crap, is very glitchy, and just wasn't fun to play. I shouldn't need frame generation to get over 60 fps on a freaking marble game with modern hardware. I was also having random black boxes flash on the screen, some sort of visual bug. I also beat a level and it didn't count, so it respawned me with the finish already triggered, making it impossible to finish until I reloaded. Not a fan at all.
BUY THIS GAME! This game is not what you expect. The marketing, and probably the developer's intent, is a relaxing and atmospheric ball rolling game with some puzzle solving. It is that, but it is also so much more. The dash you get very early on in the game is absolutely ridiculous. You can charge it up and bounce off terrain to launch across the world in a single dash. And you can air dash to extend it. This game's walls are a suggestion. The collision is very exploitable, and that is to this game's benefit. Mix this with the dash and you have a game where you can launch yourself up (and through) the landscape easily to explore loads of unintended areas with very unique terrain made out of bizarre, glitchy geometry. The true puzzle of this game is reading the landscape and exploiting your momentum to break the game's barriers and skip the intended puzzles all together.
Very fun, chill, and pretty. Great game feel and puzzle design.
It's like that one scene from the end of Happy Gilmore was a whole game and the cool vibes were off the charts.
Nice game. It's supposedly a remake, but I never played the original. Nevertheless, this is well made. It's a little easygoing, but navigating through the environments is nice as they are very well rendered and provide adequate traversal challenges to move between the main puzzles. The game control well (I played on controller), and if you end up throwing yourself out of bound, the game quickly recover, making failure very forgiving, which is great as it does encourage experimenting with movement a bit. All in all, a pretty and puzzly experience. Whether you're here to look for a remake of the original or just like chill games with a bit of reflexion sprinkled on it, I'd recommend it. side note: steamdb indicates that the game contains EOS files, but they are not used; confirmed by the dev and by just removing it before running.
Sweet little blue ball Rolling and powering up We can save a whale....
Beautiful, tranquil, absorbing exploring and puzzling. Lovely music kinda reminiscent of Eve's floaty space electronica. Super pretty looking, especially that water, wow. The puzzles often seem quite uniquely analog in a way that most puzzle games aren't, ie if you can come up with some way to fling and bounce yourself that's not the most clearly defined route, and yet works, then good on you. All in all a mix that pretty much guarantees a relaxed-but-attentive mental flow state while playing. Very enjoyable!
Just when I was thinking "I'd like to go faster" the game told me how. Love it, esp with its minimalist puzzle aesthetic.
