Inflamed features a campaign where its Inflatable protagonists advance through a series of protests.
Each protest takes place at a unique location relevant to the plight of the unpaid Inflatables. In order to make a change and rally support, players will need to earn a series of symbolic victories, hurting bottom lines and garnering positive sentiment for the Inflatable revolution.
These symbolic victories take the form of objectives for players to complete at each protest - often requiring them to cause wacky and destructive mayhem. Players will need to work together to effectively complete their objectives and claim victory!

WACKY INFLATABLE FLAMING ARM FLAMING TUBE MAN Sadly, this game just isn't very good. I had assumed that this would be one of those "fun for 5 minutes once and a while" kind of games, but it didn't even make it that far with me. You have simple objectives to do in each level, but there is a timer, and unless I am just missing something, that timer is WAY too short. I wasn't even able to finish the first stage. The game is very simple, it's just wasd into things until they explode, but it just wasn't satisfying (plus the timer ruined it for me). Another small gripe is that on the main menu, neither the options or the credits work, both are just greyed out. No settings for you. I hate to leave a negative review here, but this one didn't do it for me. The premise is funny, and it could have been a more fun game, but it just kind of fell flat. edit: on second glance, I see that the store page says "controller recommended". Mine wouldn't register for some reason, and the store page *also* doesn't list controller support... so I'm at a loss here. I guess I was missing other controls that probably would have made this game much better... but now I'm good. This could be a "me" thing, or it could be crappy implementation.. but I'm not going back to find out.
INFLAMED is such a ridiculous little game that I found myself smiling almost immediately. I play as a giant inflatable character taking part in protests against the people exploiting inflatables, and the whole premise is basically an excuse to cause as much goofy destruction as possible. I really like games that are willing to be silly without taking themselves too seriously, and this one absolutely commits to the idea. The controls are built around moving my inflatable character around while using my oversized flailing arms to interact with the environment. I can pick things up, throw them around and generally make a mess of whatever is nearby. I liked how physical everything feels because even simple interactions can turn into complete chaos. The controls take a little getting used to, but once I understand the movement, knocking things around becomes surprisingly satisfying. The campaign is structured around different protests, with each location giving me objectives that contribute to the larger inflatable revolution. I enjoyed this because the levels are not simply about reaching an exit. I have to cause enough disruption and complete the symbolic goals to make the protest successful. That gives the destruction a little more purpose while still keeping the tone completely absurd. The visual style is probably my favorite part. Everything has a colorful low polygon look that fits the goofy characters perfectly, and the inflatable protagonists look ridiculous in exactly the right way. Watching them flop around while trying to cause destruction gives the game a lot of personality. I also liked the different locations because each protest gives the chaos a slightly different environment to play around in. My biggest problem is the amount of content. INFLAMED is clearly a short project, and once I have finished the available campaign there is not a huge amount left to do. The mechanics are fun, but they are also quite limited, so I can see the novelty wearing off if I play for too long. I would really like to see a much larger version with more locations, objectives and things to destroy. The game is also clearly designed with a controller in mind, and I think that suits it well. The movement and flailing feel much more natural with a controller, especially when I am trying to pick things up and throw them while moving around. The local multiplayer support is another nice touch, because causing inflatable chaos with other people sounds like exactly the kind of thing this game was made for. Overall, INFLAMED is a goofy and surprisingly enjoyable destruction game with a memorable premise and plenty of personality. I liked the physical controls, ridiculous inflatable characters and protest based objectives, even though the short length leaves me wanting more. It feels like a small game made around one very fun idea, and I think that idea works well enough to make the experience worth playing. Rating: 6.9/10
"INFLAMED" is a weird and poorly made third person action game where you control an inflatable arm waving marketing sign thing and go on a rampage. Consider this an incredibly weak knockoff of Untitled Goose Game only worse in all respects. I'm not sure if this was put up on Steam as a joke (dumb way to waste $100 if you ask me) or if the developer seriously thought this is a product people would want (it isn't, see below), but it was treated as one. What do you do in the game? It's a consolesque top down action/brawler type of deal, only it sucks. The game is really simple and unambitious in terms of implementation, more of a tech demo or one of those cases where an amateur developer spends $100 to publish something on Steam Direct to see if it's possible. Yes, obviously it's possible. A proof of concept, tech demo, or something that's less than a little blip on the radar isn't offering anything truly valuable to gamers. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D graphics which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 2 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? I think you should give this one a miss. Although it's free, your time and storage are valuable resources, and the market is filled with superior options. Note: Joke reviews As usual, with some of the worst games on Steam, all the comedians come out of the woodwork. The vast majority of the reviews for this game are joke reviews, mocking the game for just how bad it is. The comedians give us the usual "this game cured my cancer, saved my marriage, changed my life" story... sarcastic, but not useful if you want to know if the game is worth it. Because most of the reviews are humorous but also insincere and not reflective of the actual quality of the product, the positive review score for this game should be taken with a grain of salt.
