It's a very beautiful and well designed game that does not deserve all the hate it gets. Most negative reviews say nothing about the game and show no signs that they figured out how to play it. It is a mobile 4x MMO where your troops a led by a team of 4 immortals and 1 dragon of your choice, The game chellenges you differently at different stages. At first you'll be spammed with resources and not having them stolen is your priority but by level 20 you'll start to run low. And then near level 30 you'll start to run out and acquiring more resources becomes a very important part of the game. It IS a free to play game that is very cash hungry so some minor investment is required to fully enjoy it. At f2p you can expect to build a farm for others to pillage.It is basically a demo of what you can have and do (but don't until you spend) in this game. If you purchase the very cheap "Headstart" package which gives you a 2nd permanent building queue you can expect to build an even bigger farm for even bigger enemies to pillage. Only by combining the Headstart, a lot of game time and careful strategie can you expect to survive and have fun beating other people. Or else, spend a lot. For example, with the in-game currrency (green) Gems, you have lots of places to spend them but about 3 major sensible options. 1) Is to buy teleports to join in your alliance's attacks. That's fun and can be profitable. 2) Is to spend them on collecting immortal fragments to make your army (much) stronger. 3) Is to invest them all on your VIP level in hope of getting to VIP 10 where you then get a Philosopher's Stone (it's for summoning immortals or their fragments) every day. That is the Google AI recommended method and will make you much stronger than with method 2 but in the very long run. I mean, I'm at 21 days and got to VIP 8 but nowhetre near VIP 10. But it's a very long game so why not? The game is spammed with events. Battle chess is on now and it is a refreshing break from the main game. No monetary input is involved. Pure strategy. The game has very low spam for spending. You can expect to see 3 banners a week. I don't know what other people are complaining about. It's the sort of level clever people ignore.
