Warning: Microtransaction infested mobile app! This game is infested with a toxic mobile app style cash shop. You will be prompted to and expected to give money to the developers through this cash shop to buy in-game goods so you can play the game.
"Idle Monster TD: Evolved" is one of thousands of nasty mobile apps infesting the "free" section of Steam, but it's not really free. This is an "idle" Tower Defense cash grab, basically you have critters that are the towers and you have to pay huge amounts of cash money to upgrade them or you will lose to other players in the barely working PvP events in the mobile app... this is cancer. There's only a superficial game here. The game visuals and the game itself are incredibly shallow... think of them as the too-bright, colourful, thin plastic cabinet dress theme on a poker machine at the casino. That's basically what this is. So really, the mobile app "game" is just a veneer, a thin skin wrapped around a nasty, predatory mobile app cash shop. Putting that toxic mobile app monetisation aside... this is a mobile app. I didn't spend thousands on a gaming PC so I could pretend it's an iPhone, and I don't think you did either... this kind of mobile app has no place in your Steam library. As with all mobile scams, you're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality mobile app, this is specifically designed to invalidate your consumer rights and destroy your right to privacy. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections that gamers expect to have, which is also highly problematic. Developers must learn they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I had my cat walk over the keyboard while the EULA was displaying, which fixed that problem for me. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? What's the verdict? Nope. I didn't have to pay for this, but I still feel like I got scammed.

It's a mobile base port game, you place the monster in your pocket or spend real money to buy stronger and unbalance monster tower.
Game not supported anymore, one of the core mechanic of the game (tournament) and it's currency are not running anymore therefore you are slowed by a hell lot if you want t play the game to the end, BUT the "dev" maintaining the game still collect your money if you want to purchase their offers, those roll every few days
they stopped doing the tournaments and you need them for upgrades. This is an integral game mechanic. Time to drop the game. Don't waste your money or time.
Idle Monster TD: Evolved is an entertaining tower defense game. The monsters are cute. The in-game purchases are really money drains because they are expensive and you are likely to spend real money again once you make the first purchase. So, I decide not to spend a penny.
Game used to be really fun, but it is dead now. One of the most important functions for upgrading no longer works, which means you will never be able to progress all the way.
mobile game done without any effort.
Game is effectively dead. PvP tournaments are no longer being activated. No updates (even to remove PvP info and countdowns). No support. Do not spend a single penny on buffs. The game is a grinder that's only moderately interesting, but given the incredibly slow progression (designed to get you to spend exorbitant prices on buffs), gets boring fast. If you want to play a TD game, get a real TD game with lots of levels and maps. As someone said, it's not worth the price (yes, it's free). Steam should remove this one from their catalog.
Gameplay is overall fun but there are mobile style microtransactions as well as the new Devs dont seem to care about the game and you cant even play the Tournaments anymore, which unfortunately is a big part of upgrades that your just missing out on. If the devs updated the game to either replace the tournament upgrades with some other way to earn them or just made the tournaments auto start instead of requiring the devs to manually start them every 3 days then i would probably change my Review to Positive.
