I Offered You the Crown

A story that involves a mystery to solve, with an intriguing choice to be made at the end. [h2][u]The Story & Gameplay[/u][/h2] When a blizzard hits Amy is stuck alongside boyfriend Teddy and friends Craig, Leah and Jack. It does not help that she’s stranded with a boyfriend she is not sure how she feels about, but also a friend you [i]might[/i] have feelings for. The story is linear with only one choice on behalf of the reader. One main choice however will determine the outcome of Amy’s ending. 🔸 There is one trigger warning I should mention about one of the characters. They mention rape at one part of their past experiences. They do not show anything or talk explicitly about it but it is mentioned (in case that is hard subject for some). [h2][u]Settings & Extras[/u][/h2] Settings & extras include; display options, skip text options, text speed, audio controls and voice controls. There are plenty of save slots and you can hide the hud for taking screen captures. [h2][u]The Visuals & Audio[/u][/h2] The use of ambient sounds is well done, from the hum of the wind to a door creaking. There is no voice acting and the soundtrack is mainly piano melodies (truth be told I turned it down as it tended to distract from the reading). The sprites are well done, anime style with a vibrant colour palette. The backgrounds I am not so keen on. Stock art for the most part that sadly does not mesh that well with the sprite art. I found the story to wrap up with a neat twist, some parts I kind of guessed at but one part did take me by surprise which was nice. I won’t say much about the story so as to not ruin it, however I will say it is not a romance story-well not in the way you'd expect.
