Hunt the Muglump

I like this game. It's an ever-changing puzzle adventure that randomizes every time. I'm still working towards the dungeon creator by earning the right achievements, but I enjoy the gameplay. Well-worth the low cost of 5.99. Good luck Muglump hunters.

Man, such a fun little game! Classic graphics and music make for a awesome time! I've only logged about an hour so far but will definitely be logging more. The simplicity of the game I think is why it's so fun, but I didn't say it was easy. Takes patience to make your way through the dungeon and make it out alive! Well worth the $6. Also, who doesn't love a good Wilhelm scream?!

Hunt the Muglump is a 2D retro pixel top down [strike]dungeon crawler[/strike]... wait, no, it's not. It looks like it's trying very hard to be a dungeon crawler, but there's no RPG elements to this game. It's more accurately described as a block/pathing puzzle game as you move around on a static path/grid and must guess whether to shoot into an adjacent room to kill any muglumps that may or may not be in there. Before I wade too deeply into the review here, I will admit to being somewhat confounded by this game being developed by Old School Games. They have another game on Steam, God Mode, which is a console ported 3D third person co-op arena wave survival shooter, with reasonably high production values. It flopped, but it was clearly produced by a professionally staffed and competent production studio. Now, Hunt The Muglump is below Unity Asset flip in terms of quality, like, it's really bad (which is why I don't think this is an asset flip, necessarily). So what happened here? This is like if Bioware had only made two games, Mass Effect and then a couple of years later, Flappy Bird. Like, what gives. There's something suspicious here. Questions without answers don't inform gamers much, however. In the interests of informing gamers, then, here's what you need to know: The developer was unable to come up with decent level design or game/story flow/plot, so they opted to try to use samey repetitive procgen as a substitute for adding content to the game. As a result, the game doesn't actually have any content worth mentioning. Developers must learn that procgen is not content. They chose to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution and controls are locked. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable standards for PC.

This retro game is so much fun and the music is awesome! I love that you can make your own dungeon. Give it a try :)

Enviciante una vez que comprendes las mecánicas (que se deducen =_=) y ambiente atrapante que recuerda a juegos antiquísimos, que con poco, pudieron lograr mucho. Posee varios niveles de dificultad y la posibilidad de tener un enemigo jefe bastante poderoso... el [b]Muglump Lomo Plateado!![/b]. También posee varios logros entretenidos y un editor de niveles muy ad-hoc. Lo recomiendo totalmente, si te gustan los roguelikes a la antigua y con un apartado gráfico horrendo hahaha. Not a fan

Great game at a great price point. Really good for a nostalgia trip or for a fun gameplay experience. Definitely recommend to anyone with a few bucks laying around in their steam wallet!
