I guess either I changed, or the sequel lost it's way in trying to recreate the first game. I thought the first game was great and I really enjoyed playing it on Switch almost a decade ago, but as a 32 year old, I don't find much to enjoy about the sequel. Maybe I'd feel the same way if I went back to the first game now. The combat is still fun and challenging. I like how the game forces you to think and plan out your attacks and item management well. I think the likes of Katana Zero, take this idea and execute it wayyyyy better than this game could ever hope to. For some people, they may prefer the twin-stick shooter aspect of this game, but if what draws you to this game is the puzzling combat, go play Katana Zero instead.
