Hop 'n' Marty

Ein echt solider Retro-Plattformer mit Genre typisch lustigen Figuren. Es macht Spaß die verschiedenen Level zu erkunden, obwohl sich manche etwas leer anfühlen können. In den Level sind aber dafür auch haufenweise Easter-Eggs zu anderen Spielen oder Filmen zu finden. Leider sind manche Plattformen komisch platziert und man bleibt hin und wieder hängen. Auch nimmt man bei Bewegenden Plattformen das Momentum mit was manchmal etwas buggy ist oder bei einer bestimmten Stelle dazu führt das ein (fairerweise mehr oder weniger "optimaler") Sprung nicht schaffbar ist! Schwimmen ist auch eher unlustig, weil die Kamera sich mit den Spieler mit bewegt und man sie nicht frei bewegen kann. Jedes Level dauert ungefähr 30-40min je nachdem ob man 100% machen will oder nicht. Das Spiel bietet fünf Level und das Finale. Die Level sind von unterschiedlicher Qualität manche ganz cool und manche sind ok. Das Finale ist aber sicher das Highlight vom Spiel! Das waren zwar viel negative Punkte, aber ich hatte trotzdem sehr viel Spaß mit dem Spiel. Man kann auch viele der "Fehler" verzeihen da es von nur einen Entwickler gemacht wurde. Ich würde es jedem Retro-Fan empfehlen, auch wenn ich den Preis für den Inhalt etwas zu hoch angesetzt finde!

I picked up the game after watching a Mindpulp video, and now its one of the few steam games i own where i've gotten all the achievements. I loved this game

A charming little game, it avoids being frustrating and is consistently creative. I loved every minute I spent playing it. I look forward to Hop N' Mar-Two!

Fun game. After seeing the trailers I was afraid the movement and jumping was going to feel stiff but that was not the case for me.

I cannot speak highly enough about this game. It is fun, charming, funny, thorough, there is varied gameplay and varied level design. I was never bored with this game. Unlike other 64-bit-era throwbacks, this game's controls were tight, and the camera was always perfect. I never once ran into a problem with either. This should be the norm, since more than 20 years have passed since the 64-bit-era, but unfortunately it is not. Hop 'n' Marty got it right though. I love that Macbat and other characters make cameos in this one. The only suggestion I could possibly make for this title is--achievements! Achievements have a way of making a game more engaging. For example I 100%ed the collectibles in this game, but when I died as Hop during the boss battle I had nothing to motivate me to try again. Without achievements, and with seeing everything in the previous 5 levels, I felt like I was done with the game, and that was ok with me. Regardless, I can't wait to see what the devs have planned next for upcoming games! I highly recommend this game!

AN AMAZING LOVELETTER TO THE NINTENDO 64! If you are like me and long to return to the heighth of gaming goodness with some 3D platforming collectathon goodness, then look no further than this hidden little gem right here!! The proverbial needle in a haystack, this game captures a point in time when the gaming industry was much more simple and wholesome. THIS IS THE 3D COLLECTATHON YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!! Many cameos from other characters in the Indie 3D platformer scene! And look out for the Easter Eggs scattered about! I was able to spot somebodies blue backpack that must've gotten lost in the swamp and a piece of chocolate inside of a gated sewer, for instance! You can tell that the Developer loves these games just as much as their intended audience! Speaking of that, A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE DEVELOPER FOR KEEPING THIS LONG LOST GENRE ALIVE!!! EDIT (Some helpful info for the Developer): I am 5.5 hours in, have 100% completed many of the levels and found all collectibles! None of the achievements have popped for me! I'm on Steam Deck, if that helps at all! Another thing I noticed was a glitch with the toxic alligator! After swimming in the toxic water and having him chase me as Hop, he started hovering above the water and then continued to hover all the way up to the ceiling! Another glitch I ran into: When trying to purchase the Hop onesie for Marty in the closet, it is telling me that I have already purchased it. It puts a check next to it when selecting the two surrounding costumes, but won't let me choose it or buy it. I figured I'd mention these bugs as it may help the Developer out! Again, AMAZING GAME and THANK YOU FOR KEEPING THIS GENRE ALIVE!! EDIT EDIT: The Achievement thing I'm pretty sure is the Steam Deck not playing nice with the game. Setting it to Proton Hotfix got the Achievements to pop!! FOR ANYONE ON STEAM DECK, SELECT PROTON HOTFIX IN THE "COMPATIBILITY" SECTION OF THE PROPERTIES OF THE GAME TO GET ACHIEVEMENTS WORKING!! Other than that, runs amazingly well on Steam Deck!
