Hoops VR

Did u miss playing basketball on the arcade ? This is a basketball VR game that is good enough to scratch the itch. There are 2 levels : easy and hard. I think the difference is only in the size of the ring. There are 2 more mini game modes that's interesting as well, that's to throw paper airplane and to throw things to a random bin that's acting like a hoop. Hoops VR is a casual fun basketball themed game. One of my favourite basketball themed games available in Virtual Reality so far. The design is nice, I particularly like the fire animation that occurs when you get a hot streak by shooting several hoops in a row, and I like the basketball court themed sound effects. There a three different modes to the game, shooting regular basketballs or shooting garbage into hoops, or alternatively shooting paper airplanes into rings. Although casual, there is a competitive aspect to this game with local and global leader-boards to compete on, which is always fun, and there is also a timer which adds a bit of a challenge to each mode. I’ve found that it is difficult to find a game that accurately re-creates basketball in Virtual Reality due to the way we have to hold the controls, but this is one of the most enjoyable basketball games that I have found so far, and uses the controls to the best of their ability at this stage in VR development. https://youtu.be/McukxX7gmcU

Simple but fun basketball game that also has a few neat features. Garbage and paper airplane mode? Sure, why not!? Ball lights on fire when you hit a streak? Gotta love that! It’s nothing super in depth, but it provides a few minutes of fun, maybe more if you’re a basketball fanatic. I got it as part of a bundle and I can’t complain about the half an hour I spent playing it. Thumbs: UP!

This feels like a very stripped down single player NBA Jam game from the 90s. It must be the sound effects and color palet as the game play is quite different. That said got a big wave of nestalga for the arcades of the 90's playing. I think $7 might be a bit much for the amount of content, though most of it feels well polished. This would be a buy on sale for me.

Brilliantly simple fun. Especially recommended for challenging friends and having a laugh.
