For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.

In short I can't recommend especially with so many better options for a slight (but VERY meaningful) upcharge. Most weapons, skills, and upgrades feel very samey with few notable synergies in my short play time. I beat the first boss and played through the second zone a bit... until I lagged entering a safe room and got teleported to purgatory. In the short time I've played it I can't recommend it - especially for the price. You've got Gunfire Reborn for $7 USD more (off sale), and it more than easily makes that money worth it. Not to mention Abyssus, Roboquest, Deadzone: Rogue for $5 USD more than gunfire and BPM for the same price as gunfire. All of which I would point to over Holy Shoot if you can afford the little bit extra money. The skills I experienced didn't feel fun to use. There IS the possibility for one of the skills I didn't use to be enjoyable (2 of 4 from what I could tell), but both the stun and sentry were underwhelming at best. The second zone really exacerbated an issue of enemy visibility to me. There were a lot of enemies that appeared to randomly just "boop" into your face (or ass) from seemingly nowhere. A bit too much to just be a skill issue, methinks. Better sound queues may help, but I'm not 100% on exactly what would help solve this specific issue A lot of the weapons weren't very fun to use. Very few felt effective, and basically none stood out as enjoyable to use. There were a few weapons that did feel decent - any of the shotguns in particular here, but I do think it a relative comparison. I don't think it helps that none of the weapons I used had any form of meaningful specialty. There was a grenade launcher that did much less damage than any shotgun. A "mini piercer" that I assume pierced enemies, but did so little damage that you were better off with a weapon that actually did meaningful damage. I think there needs to be a complete overhaul of the system making each weapon notably different than it's counterparts, probably by including unique weapon abilities/skills that synergize with additional upgrades/skills

I cannot recommend this game at this time. I just got hard locked in a run cause of a door closing on me, get to explore the infinite map tho lol Uhh, yeah beyond that, get rid of the "100% hit rate" enemies, meaning the skull and horned demon. Should never have an enemy that always hits you no matter what, and they do cause they will just appear around corners going mach 10 cause they don't path properly and get stuck in attack movement on walls then just slingshot into you. Weapons, honestly not a lot of originality or differentiation in a lot of weapons, ie machine gun variations, but then you get like, grenade shotgun which is cool, same with the duckgun! I want to like it, but I don't like it cause no enemy should get that kind of just "yeah you take damage no matter what," all the weapons need some level of unique ability or gimmick, and I can't like it cause its broken to boot, hard lock out of the next area by the door that prevents back tracking.
Just started, but my first impression is that the game has a lot of fun ideas and elements for meta-progression and in-run upgrades. But it just feels "off" compared to the others in the genre. Gunfire Reborn, Roboquest, etc... they are just smoother with tighter hit boxes and snappier combat. Idk what it is, but Holy Shoot just feels like it's a little clunky/janky and the hitboxes just don't seem right. Maybe I should give it another go, and I likely will, but there are too many good games in the genre. If you have already played the top dogs in the genre, then maybe this will be fun for you.
Holy Shoot is a fantastic Roguelike styled FPS that mixes Doom stylized combat with a Borderlands aesthetic. The shooting feels great in an old-school shooter type of way, and the challenges keep every run fresh. It took me quite a few tries to beat the first boss and it was a rewarding experience. The weapon choices have a good amount of variety, but I wouldn't mind seeing more options in the future. The biggest issue with this game right now is the performance. Occasional stutters occurred in certain parts, but rarely during the heavy action bits. However, it is still a noticeable drawback that may turn people off from playing the game. Overall, there is quite a lot of love put in this game. While it does need more polish, there is so much to appreciate in its current state. For anyone seeking a challenge, this may be on the "easier" side of the genre, but it is a worthy game to grind, if wanting something a bit more laid back.
If you like fps roguelite games you should give it a try! Its easy to play and makes you want to end the run.
★★⯪☆☆ - Holy Shoot or Holy Hell ? According to the developers, Holy Shoot is a fast-paced, roguelike-style FPS. Regarding the fast-paced gameplay : while double-jumping and dashing are possible, the enemies aren't very aggressive and the levels are largely horizontal, so you’ll rarely actually use these moves. As for the FPS aspect, there is very little weapon variety, and aiming is imprecise (sometimes you shoot at enemies but they take no damage). Shotgun or handgun? It makes no difference; the range is the same. In any case, the heavy machine gun is the best option. Regarding the roguelike element: like many games in the genre, progression is slowed down by removing the skills needed to win. You can only win by unlocking them (a process that takes about two hours). You do acquire power-ups during a run, but there are too few of them, they lack synergy, and, regardless, once you reach the mid-game and unlock everything, you simply steamroll through everything. Consequently, there is no real progression curve (or gameplay choice). On top of all that, the game is riddled with bugs, lacks optimization, and suffers from a lack of variety (and distinct identity) in its design and environments. The weapons lack any sense of impact, and the sound design is unpolished. The only good point is that the game is short. Verdict: So why the recommendation? Because, even though the game has a huge number of flaws (reflecting a lack of polish and even a rushed job), it remains an FPS that I enjoyed playing. And for just a few euros, it’s hard to fault the developers for the work they actually delivered.
Fun, but very short. I completed the game in under 3 hours. It was an enjoyable experience, but I wish it had offered more content and a longer playtime. Mayhem Mode isn't really worth playing, as it doesn't add enough to justify another run. I'd recommend picking it up only when it's on sale.
Good core game mechanics, good replayability, quick paced action and can stay casual. I recommend it!
