It's a Chunithm knockoff Gacha. It's not a good Chunithm knockoff Gacha.

Tengo sentimientos encontrados.
account linking is the most acient way to do it doesnt surport user genrated user name and password. can not recomend this game at all. oh you created secure user password too bad here some easy to crack user name and password. also the game devloper did not disclose the kernal acess anti cheat. the holo fandom like yeah this okay and defend the absloute horrfic partice of hoolive and the publisher.
I really wish I could recommend this game. While I'm fairly new to all the Hololive stuff, I've always liked Rhythm Games. So I was excited to try it and play songs from Hakos or Bancho. I will start with what troubles me the most, personally: Kernel Level Anticheat. Not being able to play on Linux is a dealbreaker for me. I have to really like the game to play it on Windows, and I'd do it begrudgingly. And it kinda surprises me, with the game being available on Android and clearly targeted to portable devices like the Steam Deck. Now, I am aware most people play on Windows, and I believe it would be unfair not to recommend the game without playing it and just because I can't play it on a OS I acknowledge is both a minority and not officially supported. (Un)Fortunately I have a secondary Windows installation for the times I have to use it. So I decided to boot and try it. The main gameplay seems fun yet simple. It feels consistent and responsive, which is the most important part in my opinion on a rhythm game. And unfortunately, I have to leave it as "seems", because finishing the tutorial song prompts me with an error and the game sends me back to the title screen. Tried the two fixes I found online, clearing the cache and reinstalling. The error persisted. So I cannot finish the tutorial. TL;DR: Core gameplay seems solid. Can't really vouch for it, doesn't work on Linux due to kernel-level anticheat, and, at least for me, on Windows a bug blocks tutorial completion.
Leaving a not recommended because the gacha is horrible, But if you don't mind that you can play enough as it is, since the gameplay isn't half-bad, the main game (Live) is horrible in PC, but the minigames are good enough to play here compared to mobile. What's Bad About the Gacha? 2500 for a 10 pull, plus each banner only lasts for a short while. the 2500 gems for a 10 pull wouldnt be horrible if they decided to atleast put a huge time on the banner, but it's not that big, so if you're free to play or only spend a few dollars on this game, it'll suck badly for you. Also banner after banner like almsot every other week or so is genuinely greedy.

This review is based (almost) purely on the rhythm game aspect. This review is also coming from someone who has basically ZERO knowledge about Hololive, their cast, and especially the songs in this game. All I know is that they are vtubers, Korone is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hilarious, Kizuna Ai and Kaguya Luna predated them all, and I have disdain towards corporations (period). As someone who has been playing rhythm games on and off for over 20 years, I can generally judge a rhythm game by playing the easy charts, and then progressing through the difficulties until I hit a soft wall with my current limit within the game. As someone who also plays Stepmania (Etterna build, specifically for keyboard play) to a decent level (both 4key and 6key), it's not that hard for me to VERY quickly pick up on rhythm games. For the Steam version, I got to difficulty 26 before I started failing more than passing, which blows my mind at just how easy many Expert charts actually are. Maybe I'm just too used to playing 14+ difficulty songs on Sound Voltex (which isn't even that good imho), but I felt that this game's difficulty curve is atrocious. I will admit, the only rhythm games that I have a natural aversion to are touchscreen rhythm games (the only touchscreen rhythm game I actually liked was Reflec Beat, and I was at MOST ambivalent to that game). I HATE them. With a passion. The complete lack of tactile feel completely throws me off. Just touching a screen isn't enough for me. It's not just about sound and visual for me. Rhythm gaming, to me, is also about physical feel. The Steam version of this game basically feels like Sound Voltex had a baby with Stepmania 6key. Without all the awesome encoder turning. Or the hilariously complex chordstreams and chordjacks of 6key. The core rhythm game aspect is built to be played on a touchscreen, and it hurts this version massively. The charts are still completely like they are on the mobile version, which makes it extremely difficult to determine which finger to use. This is honestly my biggest sticking point to the game and is the only reason why I have any issue whatsoever playing most of the Expert 25+ songs. If the notes were more aligned with each column to match each key, it would be a LOT easier. Though maybe that's the reason why they didn't bother modifying the charts for the Steam version? I don't know why they don't. The Steam version already can't have ranked play, which defeats most of the purpose of even playing the rhythm game. Which brings me to another major problem this game has: Button Mashing. You can pretty easily button mash your way through most of the charts with little issue, further devaluing skillful play. And the reason why button mashing can be so effective is because of the HILARIOUSLY HUGE timing window of this game. It feels like the Perfect timing window is a galaxy wide (we are talking ITG levels of hilariously huge timing windows!). Another aspect of this game that I absolutely despise is that the scoring is absolutely meaningless if you don't participate in the gacha elements, because having a team built to specifically score high on particular songs is the only way to actually increase score. Playing well has absolutely zero bearing on high scores, which also defeats the purpose of the rhythm game. Why was the rhythm game aspect even made if playing well isn't even the main goal? I hate this aspect so much. I will probably still play this game for a little while longer, but every time I play a single chart, my very first thought is "I want to play another rhythm game now". And this is NOT the sort of thinking that a player should have for a game.
