Go on a horror-comedy adventure that turns your hand into a living, talking puppet named Scout. Years ago, a bad Sesame Street knock-off called “Mortimer’s Handeemen” was canceled and forgotten, but the puppets from the show have come to life. They’re pure evil and they have plans for you.

Fun and scary in places but sadly a play once and never play again game price is a bit too high IMO. Wait for it on sale if you want a short game to play. (7/10)

Hello Puppets! is a wild mix of horror and dark comedy that caught me completely off guard. From the moment I stepped into the abandoned puppet studio, I knew I was in for something unique. The eerie atmosphere, unsettling puppet designs, and creepy backstory set the stage for a genuinely tense experience—but then there’s Scout, the foul-mouthed, sarcastic puppet sewn onto my hand, who somehow manages to make everything both hilarious and terrifying at the same time. The game doesn’t reinvent VR mechanics, but it does a great job of keeping things engaging. The puzzles are straightforward but fun, and the interactions with Scout add an extra layer of immersion. The way she reacts to my movements and decisions makes her feel like a real character rather than just a gimmick. The horror elements are well-executed, with some solid jump scares and an ever-present feeling of being watched. The dark corridors, creepy puppet enemies, and unsettling story all contribute to a genuinely eerie experience. But what really makes Hello Puppets! stand out is its humor. Scout’s constant commentary is sharp, witty, and often downright ridiculous, making even the scariest moments feel strangely entertaining. If there’s one downside, it’s that the game is pretty short. I found myself wishing for more levels, more interactions, and more time with Scout. But even with its brief runtime, Hello Puppets! delivers a memorable experience that blends horror and comedy in a way few games do. If you’re looking for something creepy, funny, and totally bizarre, this is definitely worth checking out.
don't buy if you're using a valve index. game doesn't work. there's posts 2+ years old, some even with the developers replying at first late 2020 / early 2021 before going silent about the issue and it never got resolved.
Great game, waaay to short. Felt like i was just getting into it and it was over. Great Mechanics and development. {SPOILER WARNING} Super angry in a good way that my chosen Scout couldn't make it out alive, even if it's end game after; I appreciated the idea that she might make it to experience the world and a family.
A little short and janky but otherwise one of the best uses of VR in a game, ever. The conceit that there's a talking puppet companion on your hand at all times is fantastic and makes the whole game hugely memorable - especially as Scout is a fantastic character. Negatives include puzzle solutions sometimes not being signposted well, a lack of significant settings, and the save system not being clear (it autosaves often and you reload by putting the puppet on your hand). Plus, it's way too short considering how much lore they leave on the table. Roll on a VR sequel!
Hello Puppets! VR is a surprisingly intense and atmospheric VR horror experience that makes excellent use of immersion. Being fully inside the environment adds a constant sense of tension, and the game does a great job of making you feel vulnerable without relying too heavily on cheap jump scares. The puppet-based setting is creative and unsettling, and the sound design plays a huge role in building fear. Small noises, distant movements, and silence are used effectively to keep you on edge. Interacting with the environment in VR feels natural and adds to the overall immersion. What stands out most is how the game balances horror with moments of storytelling. The narrative unfolds gradually and keeps you curious, while the gameplay encourages exploration and careful movement rather than rushing forward. The puzzles are well-paced and fit the environment without breaking immersion. Overall, Hello Puppets! VR delivers a memorable and genuinely creepy VR horror experience. If you enjoy immersive horror and want a game that takes full advantage of virtual reality, this is definitely worth checking out.
I love this game and his lore so muchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
